Exactly right. People harping about “replacement theology” don’t seem to fully comprehend the centrality of the doctrine of union with Christ in the NT.

He doesn't know what he's talking about. God sees all people as equal but not all have the same authority to carry it out His purpose. That's why in Rev 7 the 144,000 Jews from all the tribes of Israel are sealed and protected in the end times whilst those in white robes in heaven endured the Great Tribulation.

Ted Cruz decries the "heresy" of "Replacement theology", the dominant position of Catholicism prior to Nostra Aetate. Cruz, who is ironically a Baptist and holds to numerous heresies, including dispensationalism, attacked replacement theology, which has held that the New Covenant replaced the Old Covenant. Nostra Aetate, formulated in part with collaboration by Jewish Catholics, became binding Catholic teaching and holds that, while Christ is the "fulfillment" of salvation, Jews are not "obsolete", as held in replacement or "supersessionism." Nostra Aetate, formulated in 1965, formally changed the relationship of the Church with Jews, declaring that God has not forgotten them, but Christ is the key to salvation.
