$RKLB I’m so pumped after watching this! Peter Beck just published an article in SpaceNews about Rocket Lab’s Mars Sample Return (MSR) concept. "NASA should immediately move to fund the commercial MSR concepts in hand, allowing it to execute MSR ahead of schedule and significantly below legacy cost projections. Rocket Lab is ideally positioned to do this."

Why do a little science when you can do a lot of science? Our Mars Telecommunications Orbiter, based on our existing Blue Ring vehicle, meets the urgent need for communications, navigation, and relay while also flying up to 500 kg of science instruments to Mars. With this capacity, we can deploy two ESCAPADE-class spacecraft from our orbiter or 10+ CubeSats and still host onboard instruments like a comprehensive science package to monitor the Martian atmosphere’s interaction with the solar wind.

I mean, you can talk about Stoke and ULA and Rocket Lab and Firefly." I think it's fair to say Isaacman is set to usher in a new era for commercial space companies and I believe Rocket Lab is best positioned to benefit from it.

It's the first rocket that can take us to Mars. “Starship is the most complex and advanced rocket that's ever been made by, I don't know, an order of magnitude or something like that. It's a lot. It's really next-level. The fundamental optimization of Starship is minimizing cost per ton to orbit and ultimately cost per ton to the surface of Mars. This may seem like a mercantile objective, but it is actually the thing that needs to be optimized. There is a certain cost per ton to the surface of Mars where we can afford to establish a self-sustaining city, and then above that we cannot afford to do it. Right now, you couldn't fly to Mars for a trillion dollars. No amount of money could get you a ticket to Mars.
