High Court expresses concern over magistrate conduct in Turaka Kishore case Bench questions legality of remand and police procedure Amaravati, August 4: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has raised serious concerns regarding the conduct of magistrates in remand procedures, while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed in the case of former Macherla Municipal Chairman Turaka Kishore. During the proceedings, the bench made sharp observations, stating that magistrates appear to be acting without due scrutiny. High Court expresses concern over magistrate conduct in Turaka Kishore case Bench questions legality of remand and police procedure Amaravati, August 4: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has raised serious concerns regarding the conduct of magistrates in remand procedures, while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed in the case of former Macherla Municipal Chairman Turaka Kishore. During the proceedings, the bench made sharp observations, stating that magistrates appear to be acting without due scrutiny. Referring to Turaka Kishore’s remand, the court remarked that the magistrate had ordered remand with closed eyes, without verifying whether legal norms were followed. The court candidly admitted that it has failed in properly training magistrates and termed it as its own institutional shortcoming. It also questioned the urgency shown in arresting Kishore in connection with an incident that occurred three years ago.
