Watching House Republicans is like watching a football team whose best play is the punt and the block. Last I checked, Republicans actually have a majority in the House of Representatives! But you wouldn’t know it because we are all too willing to continue the policy choices of Joe Biden and the spending levels of Nancy Pelosi instead of showing the will and the courage to say that this woke and weaponized government should be DEFANGED! We should REJECT this Continuing Resolution. We should pass single-subject spending bills and vote for the spending cuts that this country desperately needs.

When Rep. Nancy Mace and I both agree that we should have single-subject spending bills and a budget to be passed, that’s not a “hard right” movement. That’s real governing. Real governing is not when they delay everything, back us up against shutdown politics, and then get us to vote for a continuing resolution where the lobbyists are in charge of what’s in it.

Republicans are spending every waking hour misrepresenting US economic success, in order to convince the uneducated, Biden is failing. Let’s look at the facts shall we? The US is outperforming ALL other G7 economies, and were it not for profit padding by the same corporations that were bailed out by taxpayers in the pandemic, food and fuel prices would be in line with the annual inflation number. A durable peace for Ukraine must include robust security guarantees to ensure that the war will not begin again. This must not be Minsk 3.0. That said, the United States does not believe that NATO membership for Ukraine is a realistic outcome of a negotiated settlement. Instead, any security guarantee must be backed by capable European and non-European troops. If these troops are deployed as peacekeepers to Ukraine, at any point, they should be deployed as part of a non-NATO mission, and they should not be covered under Article Five. There also must be robust international oversight of the line of contact. To be clear: as part of any security guarantee, there will not be US troops deployed to Ukraine. To further enable effective diplomacy and drive down energy prices that fund the Russian war machine, President Trump is unleashing American energy production and encouraging other nations to do the same. Lower energy prices, coupled with more effective enforcement of energy sanctions will help bring Russia to the table. I am encouraged that Chair Warsh supports the goals of the Fed’s skinny master account proposal. I strongly support the Fed finalizing this rule as soon as possible. Thank you, Governor Waller, for continuing to work hard on this. Our payment system is a public good, and any financial institution— new or old— who wants to comply with the law should have access to it. We should be encouraging businesses to do this, not creating arbitrary barricades.
