Each of these babies are only alive today because we stepped into rescue and raise their mothers after they were orphaned. In elephant society, it’s the mothers who raise the babies and everyone, from auties to cousins pitches in. But when young adolescent bulls leave their natal herd, it is patriarchal older bulls who help keep their behaviour in check and pass on their learned wisdom to the brash young bachelors. We see this at our Reintegration Units all the time. Huge wild bulls have played a vital role in socialising with our orphaned males (and sired many a baby among our ex-orphan females too). Now our own orphans are taking on the mantle of mentor. Rapsu- a 23 year-old ex-orphan - is one such male who the younger bulls hero-worship. With good reason too as he will take the younger orphans under his wing and help shepherd them to a wild life.

Wild-born babies Mwana and Sulwe are the perfect picture of friendship today, with little Sulwe finding comfort nibbling on Mwana's ear - a sweet bonding behaviour we often see between young elephants. Mwana holds a very special place in our hearts as Umani Springs' first granddaughter, whilst Sulwe represents another wonderful success story. These wild-born calves are the ultimate proof that our Orphans' Project works - former orphans not only thriving in the wild but starting families of their own. Watching these elephants grow up together, like siblings , shows how these wild-born babies are building their own bonds and learning from each other, just as nature intended. This van was spotted on the highway on February 8, 2025. Dogs are often collected or stolen in rural areas in China and Vietnam. Owners also sell their dogs. They are then taken to the dog market or to collection points, from where they are transported onward. #WeAreNotFood

Born to ex-orphan Kalama, Kapuki represents the incredible success of our Orphans' Project. What makes it even more special? These wild mothers choose to bring their babies back to introduce them to the people who raised them. Some, like Kalama, stay in the area for extended visits, allowing us to witness these magical early days. Others make brief introductions before heading back into the wilderness of Tsavo East National Park. Each visit proves the lasting bonds formed over the years from when we first rescued a tiny orphaned calf — who's tragically lost her mother — to watching her reclaim her place in the wild. Motherhood is quite simply the most perfect cherry on top of the cake! We know of 77 babies that have been born to elephants we rescued, raised, and rewilded, because they have chosen to share their calves with us. You can meet them too:

As per the new policy of the BCCI players are not allowed to keep their wives or girlfriends in the team hotel or bio-bubble during small tournament. If they want to stay with them, they have to make separate arrangements in another hotel at their own expense. They cannot bring them inside the team hotel or restricted bubble area. But here, Hardik Pandya is being seen moving around the team hotel with his girlfriend. Is BCCI not properly enforcing its own rules, or is there some special permission in this case?
