I had the privilege of working with Peabo Bryson on the @somma.cruise last year. One evening, I noticed him sitting alone on the deck, so I joined him. We ended up talking for hours. He shared incredible stories, spoke passionately about his music, and had such a deep love for his craft. I am so grateful to have had that special moment with him. Disney was concerned she may not have been a "strong enough" pull to do the song alone. They asked the seasoned and well-known R&B star, Peabo Bryson to sing the duet along with Celine. All the tributes I've read about the dearly departed got me thinking about how, a lot of times, we wait until the funeral to give people their flowers... instead of while they are still alive to smell them. So, I want to be intentional about appreciating people who have had a profound influence and impact on my life while they are here. Today, I want to celebrate one of my mentors, Egbon Leke Alder. I'm a fiend for wisdom, and you would be hard pressed to find a mind wiser than his on this planet. My wife and I are convinced that he uses more of his brain power than most human beings. His intelligence is divine, his creativity is sublime, and his kindness? Truly, one of a kind. He is a genius in every sense of the word. When we were planning our campaign, I knew I had to "sit at his feet." I had no idea he was battling illness because he always found time to meet with my team and I repeatedly. He gave us counsel, strategy, and wisdom - the kind that even if you could put a price on it, we could never afford to pay. I didn't end up winning the election, but spending quality time with one of the greatest minds in Nigerian history? That's a win every single time and a personal highlight in my life. Egbon, I can offer you nothing but the prayers of a grateful heart. May God continue to prosper, protect, and preserve you. May He give you the desires of your heart and reward you for me. May the rest of your years be the best of them, and may the peace that passes all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Thank you for believing in me, Sir. Thinking back to the time Johnny Hockey hit the 100 point plateau in the 2022 season and his parents were in attendance to see it. They hopped on Flames TV after and had a very heartwarming moment with Johnny. Family first is what we all saw in his time as a Flame. He put his family first in everything he did in his career. So this hits hard and closer to home. Truly devastating. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gaudreau family on the loss of Johnny and his brother Matthew.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Sandy Gall, a distinguished British journalist, author, and steadfast friend of Afghanistan. He was not only a close friend of the late Commander Ahmad Shah Massoud and his family, but also the author of Commander Massoud’s biography, drawn from the Commander’s own diaries and personal accounts. His work preserved the legacy of Afghanistan’s National Hero for the world to witness. Ahmad Massoud and I had the honor of meeting him for the last time this past February in Kent. It was a profoundly emotional encounter, filled with reflection, warmth, and shared memories. We did not know then that it would be our final meeting. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support for the people of Afghanistan left a lasting impression on both of us. We are privileged to have called him and his family our dear friends. On behalf of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan and its leader Ahmad Massoud, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Gall family. Touching down in Adamawa felt like coming back home. The love, warmth, and overwhelming reception from the people of this great land reminded me of the beauty of unity, culture, and tradition. Adamawa has always been a beacon of hospitality, and I am deeply honored to be welcomed with so much sincerity. In the course of my visit, I also paid a condolence visit to His Royal Highness, the Lamido of Adamawa, over the passing of his younger brother. My thoughts and prayers remain with His Royal Highness and the entire royal family during this difficult time. A message from Nicko: Hello Boys and Girls, I hope this message finds you all well! The reason I'm writing to you all today is to let you know of a very serious health problem that I have been through. In January I had a stroke, thank the Lord it was a minor one referred to as a TIA. It left me paralyzed on my right side from my shoulder on down, of course I was very worried that my career was over but with the love and support from my wife, Rebecca and family, my doctors, especially Julie my OT (Occupational Therapist), and my Maiden family I was able to bounce back to somewhere near 70% recovered. After 10 weeks of intense therapy it was almost time to start rehearsals for our tour. I feel it's important to let you know about this now instead of earlier as I was mainly concerned with doing my job and concentrating on getting back to 100% fitness. I'm not there yet but by the grace of God I'm getting better and stronger as the weeks go by. Thank you all for a most wonderful and magical tour so far, you have all been so amazing. Well that's it from me. A message from Nicko: Hello Boys and Girls, I hope this message finds you all well! The reason I'm writing to you all today is to let you know of a very serious health problem that I have been through. In January I had a stroke, thank the Lord it was a minor one referred to as a TIA. It left me paralyzed on my right side from my shoulder on down, of course I was very worried that my career was over but with the love and support from my wife, Rebecca and family, my doctors, especially Julie my OT (Occupational Therapist), and my Maiden family I was able to bounce back to somewhere near 70% recovered. After 10 weeks of intense therapy it was almost time to start rehearsals for our tour. I feel it's important to let you know about this now instead of earlier as I was mainly concerned with doing my job and concentrating on getting back to 100% fitness. I'm not there yet but by the grace of God I'm getting better and stronger as the weeks go by. Thank you all for a most wonderful and magical tour so far, you have all been so amazing. I have arrived in Cameroon. I come as pastor and shepherd to be alongside the Anglican faithful, and assure them they are not forgotten. I bring with me the prayers of our global Anglican family. I look forward to being alongside our beloved brothers and sisters in the Diocese of Cameroon - to accompany them, encourage them, and hear about their lives in this land. “In a time of terrible conflicts around the world, and so much suffering here in Cameroon, I come with the message of the Gospel. This is always a message of peace. It is always about the infinite value of every person made in God’s image. And it is always about the hope we have in Christ - who rose from the dead to bring us new life. I invite Anglicans around the world to pray for the Church here and for the people of Cameroon. May these coming days be a blessing and encouragement to us all - and renew our commitment to be bearers of the good news we have in Jesus Christ.
