At the time of recording "Beauty & the Beast" (1991), Celine Dion was actually considered an "up & coming" singer. Disney was concerned she may not have been a "strong enough" pull to do the song alone. They asked the seasoned and well-known R&B star, Peabo Bryson to sing the duet along with Celine. It became a massive hit and it would also win them a Grammy for the song. Peabo Bryson & Celine Dion truly gave us one of the most magical Disney theme songs of all time with "Beauty & the Beast". Peabo's signature sound and soothing tones will definitely be missed, but never forgotten.

Resharing this moment Peabo shared on his Facebook in 2020. Feeling so much sadness the past couple of days after the passing of Peabo one of my favorite soul male vocalists of all time. Always an honor to sing with Peabo - and fun! This snippet shared by Peabo back in 2020 -from The Colors Of Christmas Tour 2019 with Peabo, Bebe Winans and Oleta Adams and me - one of many awesome performances we did as an ensemble-we also sang duets and of course a couple of our individual classics. Peabo and all of us were cracking up about something that had happened onstage. The fact he shared this particular clip is such a reminder to have fun in life while here-not just go through the motions, if you know Peabo, he was quite a philosopher always dropping knowledge and wisdom. Peabo was a joy to be around offstage, with his kindness, wisdom, intellect and humor. Always a class act. I had the privilege of working with Peabo Bryson on the @somma.cruise last year. One evening, I noticed him sitting alone on the deck, so I joined him. We ended up talking for hours. He shared incredible stories, spoke passionately about his music, and had such a deep love for his craft. I am so grateful to have had that special moment with him. To his beautiful wife, son, and entire family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Peabo’s legacy will live on forever through his timeless music and the countless lives he touched. My deepest condolences to everyone who loved him.

He also said he didn’t think Bryson deserved the penalty: “I thought the fans were very supportive of Bryson today. We didn't discuss it any. “In my personal opinion, I honestly feel bad for Bryson in the situation that he was in. From my perspective, I didn't feel like maybe there was enough evidence for him to deserve a penalty there. “I feel bad for him.
