There were already signs of it at Silverstone, it became much more evident at Spa, and we believe we fixed it before Budapest. 🎤Did Kimi have the same issue? Simon: The software issue affected Kimi as well, but it impacted George more. Kimi was also running a fresher PU. 🎤How important was George’s feedback? Simon: George kept challenging the team and clearly highlighted the issues. His feedback helped us identify the root cause and put the fix in place for this race. 🎤Why have the Mercedes works team and McLaren had more PU issues than the customer teams? Simon: I haven’t counted them, but there were a lot of issues across the fleet early in the season. Reliability has improved after a lot of work from HPP.
