this #fiyeraba scene is so important for the development of the plot and characters, as well as being incredibly tender to watch. i will never accept the fact that it was cut from the final edit of wicked (2024). the chemistry between fiyero and + 1/5

+ elphaba, thanks to the excellent work of jonathan and cynthia, is palpable since their first encounter, and the fact that there's a certain electricity between them is evident even when they are on screen with other characters. but this one in + 2/5

+ particular was fundamental for me to introduce 'i'm not that girl' and to concretely show that a feeling is developing between them. it's so clear how fiyero loves to bicker with her and pretends to be annoyed just so he doesn't reveal how seeing her + 3/5

+ "win" the argument warms his heart. he is deeply captivated and softened by her, and suddenly, despite being spoiled and used to winning, losing that "stupid" fight becomes the best thing in the world for him if it means seeing elphaba's satisfied + 4/5

+ face. this scene will always be my roman empire, it's truly the sweetest!! 🥲💚 5/5

it’s also a nod to the first scene of the scarecrow where he’s pointing to different ways

They really shouldn’t have cut this. Not seeing the cub scratch him breaks the flow of the story and makes the cub rescue scene too short.

he was clumsy and falling like a scarecrow lmao

i love the “we could go this way, or we could go this way” and then the stumble and fall 😭😭😭

he’s so silly 😭😭😭

See what i didn’t like was see how gentle and nice Elphie being with the lion cub just for his btch ass to grow up and say all that wild shit about her that’s why his ass a coward lmao

oh he was so going to call her beautiful when she caught him staring at her

And that grew to become a lion who hates her??? Cmon

The lion is so cute 🥹

I will never forgive them

But we needed to see how Elphaba was as a kid! She was green, wore black, had magic, and was unjustly unliked by everyone Who would’ve fucking guessed that without that scene?

another reason why i hate that fuck ass lion

I'm editing this scene right now to post later on tktk it's so heartwarming why did they delete from the final cut

We need a director’s cut of this movie. I feel like Jon wouldn’t have cut this on his own.
