The IL-76 cargo aircraft of the Russian Federation landed at Katunayake Airport carrying a relief consignment that includes a mobile power plant and a variety of essential food supplies aimed at assisting communities displaced by the adverse weather. Officials present at the ceremony included Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Levan Dzhagaryan, Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilaka, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.), and Airport and Aviation Chairman Air Chief Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama.
