Around 1,300 Kashmiri students are currently studying in Iran and are now stranded amid the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel. The situation has left them traumatized, terrified, and extremely vulnerable. Parents are deeply distressed and anxious about the safety and well-being of their children. Many students are living under constant psychological stress and insecurity. They have reported hearing airstrike sirens, experiencing tremors, and witnessing heightened military activity in their areas. Some are even residing in cities where airstrikes have already taken place. The repeated attacks and worsening crisis have left the students frightened and helpless. Many of them have shared their fear, saying, "We are very scared. Our parents back home are extremely worried." Every passing minute without information from authorities is agonizing for these families. Parents have pointed out that students from several other countries have already been evacuated, while Indian students continue to wait anxiously. One parent said, "People from many countries have left, but our children remain. Nobody is asking about us. We feel abandoned." I earnestly request the Hon’ble External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar to take urgent steps to relocate the students to safer areas within Iran and initiate immediate evacuation efforts. This will provide much-needed relief and assurance to the distressed families back home. Rahul Gandhi Kaushal K. Twelve days after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, the conflict appears to be heading toward a prolonged and uncertain phase. Did Donald Trump miscalculate Iran’s response? And is Washington now struggling to find a face-saving exit from a war that seems to have no clear endgame? As tensions escalate between Iran, the United States, and Israel, the global economic consequences are becoming increasingly visible. Oil prices have surged and the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical energy shipping routes; has become a major flashpoint. Nearly 90% of India’s imported LPG passes through this route, raising concerns about fuel shortages and rising energy costs. Experts warn that the conflict could trigger one of the worst global energy supply crises in decades. In this episode of India & The World on DeKoder, Senior Journalist Nidhi Razdan speaks with former diplomat Jawed Ashraf and political scientist Christopher Clary to examine: • Did the US misjudge Iran’s military and political resolve? • Why does the war appear to have no clear exit strategy? • How are oil markets and global supply chains being affected? • What does this crisis mean for India’s energy security and diplomacy? Watch the full discussion as we DeKode the geopolitical, economic, and strategic implications of a war that is reshaping global politics. #IranIsraelWar #Trump #Geopolitics #OilCrisis #StraitOfHormuz #IndiaEnergy #MiddleEastConflict #IndiaAndTheWorld #DeKoder #IndiaandTheWorld #IranUS #FuelCrisis #WorldAffairs #Trump #LPGcrisis

We received deeply disturbing and chilling reports from Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, where two Kashmiri shawl sellers were brutally assaulted by members of the Bajrang Dal. Also, Around 16 other Kashmiri traders, mostly from the Kupwara district, have been threatened, harassed, and forcibly evicted from their rented accommodations. These are not newcomers, many of them have been doing business and selling shawls in Mussoorie for years, contributing to the local economy and living peacefully within the community. Yet, instead of receiving safety, support, and protection from the state authorities, they were reportedly asked by the Mussoorie Police themselves to vacate the area and leave the state immediately effectively abandoning their livelihoods. One of the traders shared, “All our goods, worth at least ₹30 lakh, are still lying there. We had no choice but to flee back to Kashmir, leaving everything behind.” We urge Hon'ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji to immediately intervene, put an end to this reign of terror, and ensure the immediate arrest of the culprits. We also request. Hon'ble Omar Abdullah Ji to urgently take up the matter with his counterpart in Uttarakhand. Request. Hon'ble HM Amit Shah Ji for Personal Intervention in it. Kashmiris are not outsiders in India. We are equal citizens and an integral part of this country. This is precisely what our hostile neighbour, Pakistan, wants to sow division, alienation, and mistrust between Kashmiris and the rest of the country. By targeting innocent Kashmiri traders and pushing them out of Indian cities, we are playing directly into their hands and serving their agenda. Rahul Gandhi Kaushal K. A Brazilian model appearing 22 times, one lady listed 200+ times across 2 booths, and one house with 500+ voters. If what Rahul Gandhi revealed today and the Electoral Roll extracts shown at his press conference are accurate, then the CEC #GyaneshKumar’s summary rejection of de-duplication software is not just bizarre, it’s criminal dereliction of duty. True, those left out of the rolls should have appealed. But this bulk inclusion of the same individuals under different names is a fraud upon Indian democracy itself. These duplicate voters might have supported any party and voted only limited number of times per day, yet the very existence of such multiple entries is a serious electoral offence. Rahul Gandhi should now set a benchmark in transparency by releasing his data in the public domain, digitally searchable for all the data analysed by his team. The Spokesperson ECI data (even in Bihar) is searchable only by EPIC number but not by name, photo, or other parameters. Genuine, citizen-friendly searchability is essential for verification. My Take on the Viral Video Alleging Support for Suicide Bombing by a Kashmiri Student! When suicide is haram in Islam, suicide bombing is equally haram. It involves not only taking one’s own life but also harming and killing others. Islam strictly prohibits suicide, and suicide bombing compounds this sin by taking the lives of innocent people, making it an even greater crime in the eyes of God. Even if, for the sake of argument, someone claims to act out of conviction or unaddressed grievances, Islam does not permit responding to injustice by committing an even greater injustice. A suicide bomber ends their own life while killing people who have no connection to their grievances. This constitutes multiple sins before God: suicide, the killing of innocents, spreading fear, and creating chaos on earth; all of which are explicitly forbidden. The Qur’an states that killing even a single innocent person is akin to killing all of humanity. There is no legitimacy or justification for suicide bombing in Islam or in the Qur’an. Islamic teachings do not allow the targeting of civilians under any circumstance. The only context in which risking one’s life may be tolerated is during a legitimate armed conflict between states or organised armed groups, where combatants knowingly engage in battle. Even in warfare, Islam lays down strict rules prohibiting the killing of non-combatants; including women, children, the elderly, religious clergy, and anyone not participating in hostilities. Suicide bombing, indiscriminate by nature, violates every one of these foundational principles. It violates the sanctity of life, contravenes the principles of justice, and stands in direct opposition to the moral and legal framework established by the Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Suicide bombing is haram; no matter what justification Mr Umar tries to offer. His remarks are not only misguided but directly contradict the fundamental principles of Islam, which strictly prohibit taking one’s own life and harming innocent people. This is a deeply disturbing and dangerous mindset, and I condemn it unequivocally. Such narratives only fuel violence, distort faith, and mislead young minds. We must collectively reject and counter these extremist interpretations with clarity and responsibility! Kaushal K. In this video Yogendra Yadav ji says BJP-RSS are challenging 3,000 year ethos of Bharat by their brand of Hindutva. While I don’t support Ultra Right condemning all Muslims & don’t see every act of Right Wing rulers as correct, let Yogendra ji reply to questions below: 1. Why he has never talked about the Muslim appeasement policies of the Cong rulers forced on Hindus in first 60 years of India’s independence even after granting Pakistan to Indian Muslims on their demand ? 2. Why he has never spoken about the open Pan-Islamism & anti-Hindu hatred being spread in India by a vast section of Indian Wahabis - Deoband, Tabligh Jamat & Ahle Hadees ? 3. Why he hates Hindu communalism & keeps silent on much more virulent & anti-national Muslim ( read Wahabi) communalism ? 4. A book called Taqwiat-ul-Iman being taught in all Wahabi madrasas openly condemns all Hindu customs & also Sufi customs. Has he ever condemned it ? 5. BR Ambedker condemned entire Muslim community in his book ‘ My Thoughts on Pakistan’ saying no practising Muslim can be loyal to India based on tenets of Quran - an observation harsher than even Veer Savarkar I don’t agree with Ambedkar on this because there are practising Muslims who have died for India & have even now been sacrificing their lives in Kashmir, putting nation before religion. The list of martyred policemen of J&K Police proves this. Why Yogendra ji has been silent on this while repeatedly invoking Ambedkar ? What does he think about Ambedkar’s views on Muslims ? 6.The way illicit Bangladeshi intruders are flocking to Bangladesh border after Suvendhu Adhikari’s ultimatum proves that Mamta Banerjee was encouraging intruders in Bengal to secure their vote support in polls. Does he agree with this view or not ? 7. Wasn’t removal of Article 370 from J&K an act of national integration? 8. As a Gandhian social worker doesn’t he think that the act of finishing violent Maoism on the part of the Centre is a patriotic act ? If Yogendra ji supports the anti-Right on above 8 points then he should throw off the mask of a Gandhian socialist, stop carrying forward his agenda in the name of ‘this nation’s ethos’ & declare himself as a die-hard communist.

Strongly condemn the brutal mob assault on Jammu & Kashmir student Aftaab Hussain, of Dr. Harisingh Gour University (DHSGSU), by Bajrang Dal, VHP & Hindu Jagran Manch in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. Shockingly, instead of being protected, he was taken into police custody despite a clean academic record and no unlawful background. Request. Madhya Pradesh Police to ensure his immediate release, safety, medical care, and strict action against the culprits. It is the constitutional duty of the state to protect students, not criminalise victims. Navratri is a sacred festival of devotion and inclusivity, symbolising the victory of good over evil. Its sanctity must be respected. Yet fringe and right-wing groups are weaponising religion to vilify Kashmiri Muslim students and communalise Garba; a cultural celebration meant to unite, not divide. False, defamatory, and concocted remarks have been made against Aftaab by these right wing elements, portraying him with malicious intent without any evidence. The reality is that he had been invited to the event by his friends. Targeted violence against Kashmiri youth is unacceptable, unconstitutional, and a grave threat to India’s unity and social harmony. Festivals like Garba embody India’s diversity, bringing people together beyond religion, caste, or region. By injecting hate and fear, organisations like Bajrang Dal, VHP, and Hindu Jagran Manch are not protecting tradition; they are poisoning it for political mileage. Such a dangerous precedent will only instil fear among Kashmiri youth who are engaging positively with local culture. This alarming trend must be rejected in the strongest possible terms. SORRY PRASHANT KISHOR: YOU ARE WRONG! ( An Open Letter) Dear Prashant Prashant Kishor Either you have got your basic facts completely wrong, or you are blatantly misleading the people of India ( reference your-enclosed interview to BBC News). My rejoinder: 1) India’s Muslim population is 14% but according to you it is 18%. Wow! Considering your entire political career started off as a psephologist, that gargantuan 4% difference that you glossed over is professional sacrilege. Psephologists are rated on their exactitude. You fail the test. There is no margin of error, Mr Kishor when you are indulging in a serious conversation post a historic election that has reduced an authoritarian government to its knees. 2) Your attempt to diminish Congress party’s impressive 23% aggregate vote-share in the 2024 elections has again got a luminous distortion. Again, it is elementary, Mr Watson. The rise in Congress vote-share by nearly 3-4% is staggering, because it fought in only 328 seats compared to 464 in 2014 where it got 19.4% vote-share. Why did you not tell that to BBC News? Why would you make such a brazen omission? 3) Your statement that Congress has a “ free vote-bank of 20% minorities votes” is so preposterous that it could qualify for the Oscars in Exaggerated Falsehoods. Muslims vote for regional parties too in bulk; the perfect case being UP and Bihar, among others. The Sikhs vote for different political parties including the BJP. Several Christians have voted for the BJP in Goa, Kerala and the North East. And the bulk of Jains probably vote for the BJP alone. Bottom-line: You lied. But why? Why did you not elaborate on the reasons why minorities are apprehensive and frightened of the hate-mongering and divisive politics of the BJP? 4) FYI, Congress won 52 of its 99 seats from 7 low-Muslim populated states. PK, you forgot to do your homework. Now, the truth that the people of India must know. The real reason why you are so unambiguously hostile to the Congress is because you saw yourself as a savior of the Grand Old Party once it was annihilated in the 2024 general elections, like PM Modi and others too who thought it was a fait accompli. You tried that in your famous “TMC-Goa model” in the assembly elections of 2022 which flopped miserably. Your attempt to rebrand TMC as a national alternative to the INC was instantly abandoned. Mamata Bannerjee was an unsuspecting victim of your Machiavellian game to destroy Congress for the pursuit of your personal ambitions. It was expected that a demoralized INC would crumble, and you would arrive as a knight in shining armor. There are two things you need to reflect on, Prashant: 1) Why did BJP lose the parliamentary seat of Ayodhya? 2) Why did Congress win both the seats in Manipur? I hereby give you an open challenge to debate with me on national television on the above and more. And by the way, this will hurt, but I predicted 240 seats maximum for the BJP on several occasions, while you were sarcastically asking Indians to keep a glass of water ready for the June 4th 2024 results with the saffron party at 303+. I messaged Karan Thapar after your public meltdown on his show (just like another media-created political superhero) that you had indeed told me yourself over a phone call that Congress would be decimated in Himachal Pradesh . But then you can always deny that. But what you cannot deny is that a celebrated emissary of your team (an intellectual titan and former parliamentarian) wanted me to join TMC with a host of attractive inducements thrown in. I listened to the proposition as any gentleman should, and politely refused. And yet, I was in London when a press release was unethically circulated that I had attended a meeting with the West Bengal CM in attendance. Sorry Prashant , if this sounds a bit personal. But your attempt to mislead Indians is appalling and leaves me with no other option. Cheers! Sanjay

I convinced my entire family, relatives, friends, and everyone I know to vote for Modi and the BJP in 2024. I truly believed they were the ultimate nationalists ~ putting the nation above everything else, that no one was more patriotic than them. What a fool I was. I feel ashamed and disgusted with myself for falling for it. They proved me dead wrong.. The harsh reality? This government only cares about SC, ST, and OBC vote banks. General category people ~the so-called “forward castes” ~are nothing but disposable tools to them. They don’t give a damn about merit, fairness, or the future of our children. All they crave is raw power, seats, and staying in control at any cost. They will happily sacrifice the dreams and opportunities of millions of hardworking, tax-paying general category families to keep their coalition of castes happy. Enough is enough. I swear on everything I hold : In 2029, I will make damn sure no one in my family, no relative, no friend, no acquaintance wastes even a single vote on Modi or the BJP again. Then whom to vote? What’s the solution? Instead, we must back independent candidates who fight tooth and nail for merit first, nation first. Candidates who refuse to play the endless Dalit-Dalit card, who don’t obsess over caste quotas day and night while ignoring the silent massacre of general category opportunities in education, jobs, and promotions. Look at examples like Pappu Yadav and Chandrashekhar Azad ~ they won as independents in 2024 . If such worthless people can win, then in the general category there are far more educated people than them. 20-25 seats, they can also get those. Imagine if 20–25 such merit-driven, no-nonsense independents get elected out of 543 seats They can install governments or topple them overnight. That’s all it takes. Just 20–25 genuine MPs who prioritize competence over caste, nation over vote-bank politics. To every general category voter: Stop feeding these traitors. Boycott every party. Find local independents who actually stand for equal opportunity and national strength. Back them hard. Even if they lose, you won’t wake up sick with regret, knowing the person you voted for just stole another seat, job, or future from your own child. We’ve been silent doormats too long. No more. Vote merit. Vote nation. Or watch your bloodline get erased while you stay quiet. Your call.

Even as citizens in Delhi-NCR continue to gasp for clean air, with PM2.5 silently & irreversibly infiltrating their bloodstream (with documented long-term health risks), the Commission for Air Quality Management has chosen to lift GRAP-3 and scale the conditions down to a modified GRAP-2. This decision is based on optimistic forecasts from IITM Pune and India Meteorological Department that air quality will improve by tomorrow. But what if these projections turn out to be wrong? On 26 October, the average AQI for New Delhi stood at 390, barely 10 points below the GRAP-3 threshold of 400. So, from where did they get the figure of 327? From some well sprinkled monitoring station? Ground reality is far more alarming. Barely an hour ago, Greater Noida recorded an AQI of 550, with PM2.5 levels nearly 30 times higher than the permissible limit. Yet decisions continue to be driven by 24-hour averaged values drawn from multiple monitoring stations, some of which in Delhi are operating smog guns and sprinklers, effectively suppressing real-time readings and masking actual exposure levels. At a time when public health should be the highest priority, relying on hurried strategies based on limited forecasts and small sample modelling may not be the most prudent approach. When the health implications are long-term and affect every age group, erring on the side of caution is not just advisable, it is responsible governance. This is not a time to score brownie points. It is a moment to protect lives as ill effects will be known many months or years later. The Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced this decision almost triumphantly, noting that hybrid mode in schools and 50% work-from-home will be withdrawn as if in compliance of CAQM decision! Delhi & other State Governments are free to exercise more caution then what CAQM suggests. One can only hope that CAQM’s optimism proves justified and that we will not be forced to reinstate GRAP-3 in the coming days.
