![Most people spend retirement slowing down. At 88, Inderjit Singh Sidhu spends his mornings cleaning Chandigarh's streets. Long before most people begin their day, the former IPS officer and retired DIG is out with a broom and a sanitation cart, clearing litter, sweeping roads, and unclogging drains across the city. For the past decade, he has done it all voluntarily. When he first started, many mocked him. They struggled to understand why a man who had spent his career in positions of authority would choose to sweep public roads. But Sidhu never let the criticism stop him. Born into a military family, he dedicated 35 years to the Punjab Police before retiring in 1996. Yet for him, service did not end when he hung up his uniform. It simply found a new purpose.
