Have always advocated for lower fares in public transport systems so that more people can use the Metro and buses instead of taking out their private vehicles. However, the state government has made the Metro fares the most expensive in the country which incentivises people to commute in their car or two wheeler. Currently, about 10 lakh people travel by Metro and around 45 lakh people use BMTC buses in Bengaluru. Yet, instead of building better public transport solutions with a big outlay, the Congress government is out to build a car-only tunnel road totally costing about Rs 43,000 crore. Watch.

The Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) struck the largest oil refinery in northern Russia. On the night of April 26, operators of the 1st Separate Center and the 414th Brigade “Madyar’s Birds,” in coordination with the State Border Guard Service and other components of the Defense Forces, successfully hit a strategic enemy facility - the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery. The enterprise, Slavneft-YANOS, with a design capacity of 15 million tons of crude oil per year, is among the five largest oil refineries in Russia. The plant specializes in deep oil refining and produces automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, jet fuel, fuel oil, and other petroleum products. As a result, a fire broke out on the facility’s territory. The full extent of the damage is still being clarified. ‼️A great injustice is being conducted against the world's poorest people. ‼️ While developed countries in the Global North continue to expand fossil fuel use for their own citizens, these same governments, often backed by NGOs, pressure global development banks to withhold financing from Global South countries for projects that would provide access to clean cooking fuels like LPG. At the heart of this campaign is a critique of what we call "carbon colonialism": a new form of climate injustice in which the poorest are asked to sacrifice the most, while the richest continue to expand the very emissions infrastructure they refuse to allow in Africa. There is no denying the urgency of decarbonisation. But if we do not distinguish between fossil fuels that lock in emissions for decades and those that offer a short-term bridge to health, dignity, and development, we risk deepening existing inequalities while doing nothing to save the planet. A car that runs on natural gas definitely grabs people's attention because it's not something you see every day. When most people think about alternative fuels, they usually think of electric vehicles, so it's understandable that everyone wants to know how a natural-gas-powered car works. What I find interesting is that natural gas vehicles have been around for years, yet many drivers have never encountered one. They offer a different approach to reducing fuel costs and emissions, though availability of fueling stations can be a major consideration depending on where you live. Would I consider one? I think it would depend on convenience and infrastructure. The technology is fascinating, but having easy access to fuel would be just as important as the vehicle itself.

At least 30 stretches of pavement across Reading will be upgraded using an innovative new process this year. This method of treating footpaths which uses a bitumen sealing process is quicker, cheaper and more environmentally friendly than traditional methods of resurfacing but effective at maintaining the pavement at a high standard for longer. The work can be carried out by the Council’s own Highways team, reducing time and costs, which means more pavements can be improved. Around 160 stretches of pavement have been identified for treatment, and the work will be rolled out over the next five-years. #rdguk
