The Power of Decentralized Data 💪 Data is the new oil, 🛢️ but it's also a valuable asset that needs to be protected. 🛡️ Traditional centralized data storage and processing methods are vulnerable to security breaches and data leaks. 🚨 Inflectiv's decentralized approach offers a more secure and efficient way to manage data. 🔐 By distributing data across the network, we reduce the risk of data loss and ensure that it remains under the control of its rightful owners. 🤝 Experience the power of decentralized data with Inflectiv. 🚀 #Inflectiv #DecentralizedData #DataSecurity #Blockchain

BIG NEWS. The Blockworks website has evolved: yesterday we were the home of news, today we are the home of onchain data. Head over to the site to see for yourself, but here's a little snippet of what you can expect: 1. Sector leaderboards (chains, DEXes, borrow lend, DATs, etc...) 2. Comprehensive data dashboards protocols 3. The ability to compare pricing and onchain data easily (coming soon) We're doing this because the industry still has a gigantic data problem. As investors get more sophisticated and fundamentals driven, basic high level facts are no longer sufficient. Investors need to be able to trust the data they are seeing and go much deeper than the surface level info that's available today. Additionally, because many data providers allow companies to essentially self report, you can't trust what you are seeing. This site is our contribution to fixing that problem and to ensuring clear, accurate data for investors. Blockworks is fully dedicated to becoming the most comprehensive data company in crypto in 2026. This is the first of many, many announcements like this this year, stay tuned.

There’s a turf war in San Francisco. Fighting for territory? Chihuahuas and labs. These are the two most common dog breeds found in the city, according to detailed data obtained by the Chronicle from San Francisco Animal Care and Control on every dog registered since 2020, a total of 50,000 pups. But depending on which neighborhood you are in, you are much more likely to see one or the other. There are also a few pockets of the city where other dogs dominate. While there’s more than enough data to give us a strong sense of the city’s dog scene, the dataset doesn’t represent every canine in San Francisco. Animal Care and Control estimated in 2018 that the dog population was between 120,000 and 150,000. The department said that not all dogs are licensed because people might not be aware of the law requiring it or don’t want to pay the fee, and there are only 11 officers who patrol the city to look for unlicensed dogs. With this bounty of doggo information, we have anointed this “Dog data week,” in which we will explore a different aspect of San Francisco’s four-pawed population each day. Today, we start with San Francisco’s great breed divide. In addition to names, colors, and breeds, the data also includes the ZIP code of every registered dog.

All this used to be underwater Lake Mead is on the border between Nevada and Arizona and it’s water levels are now critically low There are many Data Centers that have been put in the Lake Mead area and draw directly from the lake - Google’s Henderson data center consumed roughly 352 million gallons in one year. It directly pulls from the Lake Mead sourced municipal supply - Flexential Data Center facility used around 20 million gallons in one year - Other Data Centers in the area collectively used over 716 million gallons in 2024, with nearly all the water drawing from Colorado River and Lake Mead sources Pair this with droughts, water demand from agriculture and resident use and now there is almost nothing left… just look at this…. The lake is only at about 32% capacity Why is this being allowed

⚠️A VERY ACTIVE Weather Pattern is setting up next week, bringing MULTIPLE chances for major Winter Storms to sweep through the US. 🥶👊🔥This setup features a BATTLEGROUND of Warm Tropical Air clashing with Frigid Polar Air, creating an environment that is ripe for Winter Storm development. ❓Specific storm details are still VERY much up in the air, and we should not treat any single model run as gospel at this point. I'm only showing this GFS run as an example. 🌨️ The key takeaway is that the pattern is right, and Heavy Snow, Ice, and Wind are all on the table somewhere across the country. ❄️ Hang in there, my US Snow brotheren. More details to come....

Part of the reason they wanted to develop reusable rockets that can land is the Geophysical Event. Part of the elite wants to build a data center and a small hub on the Moon to preserve AI and, with it, all human knowledge. They can control the conditions on the Moon more easily than on Earth, which will be far more active and unpredictable during a geomagnetic excursion and increased cosmic radiation. They would have no rivals on the Moon, nor would the lucky survivors on Earth pose a threat to them there. That's why the Moon is important. It was used in the past as well, which is why there are monolithic structures on the Moon.

Playing a practice round for @OlympicGolf this is Alejandro Tosti ( video courtesy of Brad Faxon ) who is just 5’6” tall and is currently in the top 10 in driving distance on the PGA Tour. It is tough to be precise about the top 10 P4P and I4I longest players of all time as there isn’t the data needed to be exact but I don’t think it would be a stretch to put Tosti in the top 10 all time in either I4I or P4P driving distance. (note: “players” meaning played golf at the highest level, otherwise this title will always belong to Jamie Sadlowski ) My top 10 in no particular order: Gene Sarazen Gary Player Ian Woosnam Rory Mcilroy Ben Hogan Bobby Jones Tom Watson Alejandro Tosti Min Woo Lee Justin Thomas *There is a bias towards more recent players because the data is better and because golf courses are increasingly being setup to encourage players to swing for the fences and the equipment, being more forgiving, further encourages this generation of players to swing all out. Still though there is much to learn from these moves.

Something big is happening in robotics - and it’s hiding in plain sight. This post is not about dancing robots but in the data that powers them. Open robotics datasets have exploded this year, turning the field into a more scalable and collaborative ecosystem. In just two years, Hugging Face datasets grew from 11k to over 600k - and robotics is by far the fastest-growing segment. We went from 1k robotics datasets in 2024 to 27k in 2025! For comparison, text generation, the second-largest category, has only around 5k datasets in 2025. That gap is massive. Open datasets are important because robotics lives and dies by real-world robot data - video, actions, sensors, failures. By making this data easy to upload, reuse, and benchmark, researchers, startups, and large players are now releasing real-robot datasets that would have stayed locked inside labs just a few years ago. Major contributors include NVIDIA, LeRobot initiative, and a rapidly growing maker community. This surge is also enabled by cheaper video storage, better tooling, and an open-source AI culture now spilling into the physical world. And it really matters: open robotics data dramatically lowers entry barriers, accelerates learning-by-doing, and speeds up progress toward generalist and humanoid robots. Robotics won’t scale through hardware alone - but to a large extent through shared data. Viz below from AI World - link to the story and more viz/filters in comment.

The open-source intelligence people have already identified the dry lake bed, 40 miles from the nearest road, deep in the Iraqi desert, that the Israeli Air Force used as a forward operating base. It was clearly more than an emergency strip; it was a full refueling and rearming base. Challenge for the OSINT people: go back through the data and find the sites that Israel used for the same purposes in the June 2025 Twelve Day War. They were much more critical then, and rest assured, they will find them.

Sunday, February 23, 2025, 3:00 PM PDT: A significant shift in the pattern from 90° temperatures in the next 2 to 3 days across much of Southern California and the southwest. A shift in the main Pacific Jet stream axis is just approximately 230 miles due west of the Hawaiian islands and Marshall Island corridor. A series of strong Pacific storms that are trending one right after the other this particular series of storms may produce similar to what we had a couple of weeks ago that brought significant rainfall to our region. I’m watching the details as this emerges this upcoming week as we transition into March 2025. This is also known as the pinnacle of Hollywood’s award season, which is on March 2, 2025, which is next Sunday already. Higher confidence is growing in potential for at least over an inch of rainfall. Possibly higher rainfall amounts first week of March 2025. This still is being looked at closely in the next 24 to 36 hours from San Francisco to San Diego, California. The hardest-hit areas trending are San Luis Obispo to Los Angeles counties. Many burn areas from Pacific Palisades to Altadena will have to keep a close eye on this developing weather situation over the next few days as this evolves. #CAwx #CaliforniaStorms
