what a cruel lie to tell ordinary people.

This is just wildly untrue.

When you’re IQ 140 and you’re not even top of your class, you think you’re ordinary. My wakeup call was being 25 and realizing office staff didn’t know how to use a spreadsheet… and then finding out you can’t just teach it to them in 1 hour and they remember tomorrow.

I know a lot of retarded people that did not have the mental ability to learn and understand complex tasks so ai do not agree with Richard. A fish can never learn to fly like a bird.

Richard Feynman definitely never met "Humpbakk Chunk"

Low IQ has great explanatory power…and one of the greatest mistakes the high IQ make is believing everyone’s like them…just less so… Said another way the smart folks think everyone has a car running in their head. Sure, some have Ferraris or BMWs or Mercedes and others have Nissans or fords…but we’ve all got cars churning along in our cerebral cortex… No, somewhere around 80 IQ(perhaps higher) peoples minds are closer to electric bikes…sure you can coast a bit but you’ve got to pedal and balance those conveyances…and they sure ain’t going on the freeway… The final misunderstanding is the notion that if you have a low IQ you sound like Forrest Gump…No, even folks around 70 IQ have decent sized working vocabularies…

We raise geniuses, put them on pedestals and glorify them Because we refuse to acknowledge a simple truth Our inadequacy To admit that a ‘genius’ is but an ordinary person that just worked hard Is to admit we didn’t work hard enough Stop lying to yourself. You can do it too.

Hard disagree, I had 2 friends who READ math and get complete A's the day of the exam, i have to put a bit of effort though. These guys are very very good at everything, be it gaming, studies or whatever.

I disagree. The talent is having the mental ability to understand and process whatever needs to be learned, plus the passion, desire, and patience to learn it.

Reposts are appreciated 💗

This just proves that smart people aren't always smart.

they are exceptions

Tru💗

He was completely wrong on this, but I understand this was the kind of answer people wanted to heard and he knew it

Your forehead says you ain’t no ordinary person.

Hard work beats talent when talent doesnt work hard

I could study for 10 lifetimes and still not be able to understand quantum mechanics.

He's never set foot out side of the white tower.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard him say

Ironically, this reveals an extreme lack of empathy.

I don’t agree. There are things people do effortlessly without Having to put in too much efforts, which they turn into their major strength, and that becomes talent

dumbest thing he ever said for sure.

And then throw millions of people into that same scenario, and measure the effective output and contributions and ability and you’ll get a bell curve. Take the top 0.1% of them and you have the brilliant scientists.

Congratulations on 4k followers ❤️

@lucia20007777 Thanks 💗🥹

Perhaps he’s being modest

Always fascinating to see truly smart people have such a wildly unrealistic world view.

This might be it

The most talented and gifted people always say bullshit like this! Yeah just study music and you become Mozart! Just read and you’ll be Shakespeare. Just paint and one day you’ll be as skilled as Rembrandt. They say this so you can understand how mediocre you are!!!

He says this because he feels normal and can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t think like he does. But obviously it’s ridiculous- we all know talented people in every sphere.

Yeah he's wrong

Best quote ever "there is no miracle people"

feynman technique is what got me through highschool. this clip has a special place in my heart
