8 containers carrying diesel fuel and cooking gas were transferred from Egypt to UN humanitarian aid organizations in Gaza, as part of the pause and the hostage-release framework reached with the U.S. through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt. The fuel and cooking gas are designated for the operation of vital humanitarian infrastructure in Gaza. 200 humanitarian aid trucks are also being dispatched to intl. aid orgs. operating in Gaza. The trucks only carry food, water, shelter equipment and medical supplies.

A bit of good news. Around 10 aid trucks arrived safely at UN warehouses in Gaza city through the efforts and coordination of local communities in North Gaza preventing the killings and chaos of Israeli occupation organized aid distribution. Before 7 October, 100+ trucks a day carried aid and supplies into Gaza. Since then, only 54 have been allowed through. This is a far cry from what is needed for 2 million+ people. Sufficient humanitarian aid must be allowed into Gaza urgently and Israel's illegal blockade lifted.

Today I entered Gaza again to report on the situation of humanitarian aid distribution. What I saw was shocking — hundreds of palettes of perishable aid sitting in the hot sun waiting for the UN to distribute. Since last week, the IDF has attempted to fast track more aid into the Gaza Strip through airdrops, pauses in fighting, humanitarian corridors, and opening additional aid crossings. Over 5,000 trucks have entered Gaza since May 19th, and four crossing are now being used, though many of the UN’s trucks have been violently looted by Hamas or other Gaza gangs. The situation is precarious, but with thousands of tons of aid just waiting for delivery, it’s clear that Israel is not the obstacle to getting aid into Gaza.
