@ChrisVanVliet Sometimes I just can’t wrap my head around how easily people get let go in this business. Especially when you know how contracts work in major American leagues like the NBA. Like... how can you just decide to fire someone? Even if they still get part of their salary.

Perry Saturn sat down with Chris Van Vliet and finally put the Moppy era in context. That whole “fell in love with a mop” thing wasn’t some random comedy idea. Saturn says it was punishment for the Mike Bell incident. “Pat Patterson thought I should marry a plunger, so that’s what he pitched, and somehow the plunger got turned into the mop. And the whole idea was I did that because I got hit in the head, which is what happened with Mike Bell, and this was my punishment. And I can prove it was a punishment because they never gave me any direction.” Vince wanted him to promise it would never happen again.
