Rob Markman shuts down the idea that Drake is addressing J. Cole: “I don’t think the smoke applies to Cole… I don’t think Cole is taking the bait because he has mostly taken the high road. Cole has been clear with saying he has love for both [Kendrick & Drake].” Rob goes on to say he doesn’t believe we’ll see Drake vs. Dot fully engage because Drake already lost.

Rob Markman speaking on J. Cole: “I recognize that J. Cole has poured into several journalists. He did ‘The Fall-Off magazine’ & employed several writers, editors and photographers. He went on YouTube reaction channels & still did several interviews.” He adds, “J. Cole made the ecosystem better.” In the full video - I highlight how both Drake & Cole contribute to the ecosystem in positive ways. Via - CalebFromX

🚨 Akademiks says he hates to admit it but J. Cole WASHED Drake on First Person Shooter Says Cole’s verse was undeniable and even recites the bars claiming that might be why he’s still salty at Cole BUT says Drake washed Cole on every other collab and no Cole fan can tell him otherwise. Also claims Drake has washed Kendrick on all their songs together

🚨 J. Cole says his idea for The Fall Off was to feature both Drake and Kendrick Lamar on the album as a way to celebrate coming up in the same era. 🚨 DJ AKADEMIKS SAYS DRAKE HIT HIM UP AFTER THE ROB MARKMAN & LOREN LAROSA CLIP 👀 DJ Akademiks says Drake messaged him after seeing the clip of Akademiks calling out Rob Markman, Loren LaRosa and other alleged journalists for what he describes as lazy, selective coverage. Akademiks argues that some media personalities will cover a story heavily when it fits their narrative but once new information comes out that challenges that narrative, they suddenly stop following up. 👀 Drake apparently saw the clip and decided to reach out. 🦉

🚨 Rob Markman breaks down Drake’s closing FOMO bars and says “we from the Dot, you can’t compare to us / fuck all that circle shit, I’m squaring up” could have a Kendrick double meaning but stresses it’s nowhere near enough to restart the battle Rob points out T-Dot = Toronto, while Kendrick is also known as K-Dot, and says the “dot / circle / squaring up” wordplay could be intentional. He also highlights Drake confirming the 2027 tour in the bars: “I’m about to book another hundred-something shows and tear it up.” Rob says most of FOMO actually felt like Drake was moving on from 2024, with only a few moments that could still be read through the battle. “I don’t think Kendrick is responding to any of this.”

Rob Markman gives an excellent perspective on XXL freestyles and says they should continue to exist: “They are not expecting the whole Freshman class to [rap like] Lupe Fiasco… What they require from you, more than just bars, is a level of preparation…If melody is your thing…give the best melodic performance that you can.” Rob Markman 💭

Akademiks says J. Cole has always loved Kendrick Lamar more than himself and calls Cole a “beta male.” Ak runs through a whole timeline: Cole allegedly taking a slap from Diddy while defending Kendrick, still name dropping Kendrick on First Person Shooter even after Kendrick declined the verse, then Kendrick firing back on like that just for Cole to apologise to Kendrick on stage in front of 30,000 people Meanwhile, Ak points out Drake never even pushed the “big three” angle that was always Cole

Young Thug speaking on J. Cole: “He’s the biggest artist and got way more money than [me] I need to calm down” Thug goes on to say he begged Cole for a feature after Cole executive produced his highest selling album and brought him on tour. Despite Thug using bots - he has yet to outsell ANY of J. Cole’s projects. Maybe if he releases the audio of him hating on Cole and put it on his next album the fans will actually give a f***

🚨 DJ Akademiks says rumors around J. Cole not talking to schoolboy Q at dreamville fest is true however… Ak says the real rumor he’s heard is that Cole actually spoke directly to Kendrick Lamar after the verse. Ak claims Kendrick allegedly told Cole the diss was meant for Drake not him. But Cole still responded anyway with “7 Minute Drill.”

🚨 Akademiks on why he feels J. Cole is different from Kendrick & Drake Ak says Cole genuinely comes off as “the man of the people” he says “Cole moves like a regular guy, the type to apologize to a UPS driver for cutting him off, and that the humility doesn’t feel performative at all” Ak adds he can’t imagine Kendrick or Drake moving with that level of fan access, saying Cole doesn’t act like one of the most famous rappers on earth and actually listens to the people around him

Mal saying Cole never spoke to Drake again after the beef is crazy, he was bumping $$$4U with his crew. But if he’s talking like that, maybe it’s something Drake told him directly, and it would make Cole look bad.

Charlamagne on J. Cole : “Out of that whole Big 3 of him Kendrick and Drake , he’s got the best roster and it’s not even close” This is one of the most under-appreciated aspects of Cole, he gave them favorable deals in a music industry that tends to do the opposite.

🚨 Ray Daniels claims J. Cole may have “lined Drake up” during the Kendrick battle on the Rory & Mal podcast. Ray says if Cole had fully joined the battle, things might’ve played out differently since it would’ve been three artists going at each other instead of Drake vs Kendrick. Rory also says Drake deserves more credit for actually responding to rappers who diss him, unlike most artists who only throw subliminals. Ray adds Drake and Cole are actually more similar as people, while Kendrick is wired differently when it comes to competition.
