Even in some of his more lighthearted movies, Don Bluth has to add a pinch of darkness or nightmare fuel. Even in a Troll in Central Park, the main villain turns living beings into stone (Petrification is a fate worse than death in my eyes).

Oh absolutely! I feel like its not a Don Bluth movie without!

I watched this movie so much as a laddie. Thanks for bringing me back to my childhood I'm gonna go watch this now.

Keep in mind, the scene when the Owl appears from the book and turns the kid into a kitten to eat him scared YMS as a kid in 'Childhood Trauma Part 2' prior to the TommyNC2010 cameo and next two segments(Buffy The Vampire S3E3 Hush, and Mars Attacks!).
