Sounds like avoidance behavior. Doing anything else, EXCEPT removing the phone number requirement.

Please add support for true multi‑device use on Android. Right now, linking Signal on my Android tablet disconnects my phone. I want a proper companion device mode so I can use Signal on both my Android phone and tablet at the same time. Thanks
