Officers went straight to violence instead of proper ID. She was probably a military wife with a on base ID for travel. No driver's license required for basic travel.

As a military spouse your license is extended. Why doesn't she have her military ID with her is insane. Mine was "expired" for a few years.

Fun fact! Active duty military AND their dependents do NOT have to have a license issued by the state they are stationed in. They only have to have a license issued by “home” state and it does NOT expire even if it is past the expiration date on the physical license. I held a Illinois license for 22 years in 8 different states till retirement and never once received a ticket for it even when receiving a speeding ticket. Some police aren’t aware of this law.
