Here are The Facts 🤙🏽 Thanks for the tag @CumLaude90 Follow to tag when a post is needing context 🤙🏽 Edmond Officer Survives Ambush During Traffic Stop, Suspect Arrested May 1, 2025 Edmond, Oklahoma Facts: On May 1, 2025, around 4:50 p.m., Edmond Police Officer Caleb Hodam was ambushed during a routine traffic stop in a parking lot near 15th Street and Broadway Extension by 22-year-old Ocean Hudson, who had no connection to the stop. Hudson approached Hodam, claiming he had “something to report,” then sprayed him with pepper spray and attacked him with a large knife, as captured on body and dash cameras. During the struggle, Hudson attempted to grab Hodam’s gun and stabbed him, while Hodam, temporarily blinded, radioed for backup and pinned the knife to prevent further harm. A passing driver intervened, helping to disarm Hudson by prying the knife from his grip; Hudson spat in Hodam’s face and urged officers to kill him, stating he was “supposed to be in prison” for active felony warrants in Canadian County for child pornography and lewd acts with a child under 12. Backup officers used a Taser to subdue Hudson, who continued resisting after being tackled and restrained. Hudson faces felony charges: assault and battery with a deadly weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, aggravated assault and battery on a police officer, placing bodily fluids on a government employee, and obstructing an officer. Hodam was treated and released from the hospital; the Edmond Police Department praised his bravery and thanked the citizen who assisted. Hudson invoked the Fifth Amendment, refusing to cooperate with investigators, and is being held without bond in Oklahoma County District Court.
