Palmer gets it: If you're going to say something everyone agrees with, you might as well have said nothing at all. You're not going to build a following of people who say, "I just love his right-down-the-middle, very hedged takes that everyone agrees with." If some people love what you're saying and some people hate what you're saying, that's a lot better than having everybody lukewarm agree with you. Don't waste time communicating about what everyone already agrees on. Focus on the things where you need to change their mind.

TAG PLAY FROM LAST NIGHTS TEXAS & GEORGIA CWS GAME. 1) Texas catcher initial set up is inside the 3B line & in fair territory. 2) When he reads the SS’s throw from down the LF line, he takes a big drop step to get a more favorable hop. Unfortunately the drop step takes him behind HP which allows the runner to score before being tagged. 3) In today’s game with replay review as part of the process, it is best to make the tag before the runner gets to HP. Most successful tag outs are made up the 3B line on the slider’s midline before he gets to HP. 4) In this situation the catcher was probably not far enough up the line & took too big a drop step. ( Most likely a combination of the two) IMO the ideal initial set up on throws from LF/CF is 17” up the line & 17” inside the line. From that position a good throw legally takes you into the line & keeps you from getting behind the plate. It also allows the catcher to work back towards the plate on a wide throw on the 1st base side. 5) Ideally on a close play like this one you are making a quick one handed sweep tag while pivoting through the runner while sliding & pivoting on both knees.

I’m all in on Washington CB Tacario Davis as a Day 2 swing for the fences pick. Ultra rare tools with 4.4 speed at 6’4 and 34” arms. It’s impossible to throw over the top on this guy. He’s a press man/cover 3 guy all the way. Like most of these taller corners, his lack of lateral fluidity gets him in trouble in off coverage. But just like K-State safety VJ Payne, this dude has one of the highest upsides at the position if put in the right scheme. I was high on Nahshon Wright coming out of Oregon State and Davis is in that same mold, just more athletically gifted.

Yeah, I know AJ Brown is open. So is DeVonta Smith. So why does Jalen Hurts make the harder throw to Smith? There are a few reasons: - Since it isn't press coverage, Hurts anticipates pre-snap that the CB on Brown will go over the top instead of just running into the traffic. He doesn't, but he should have which would have made the throw muddier. Not to mention that Carolina not massively cheating their MOF safety and hole defender to the AJ Brown/DeVonta Smith side is also questionable at best. - His footwork on the drop doesn't really allow him to make the AJ Brown throw. You could argue (and you would probably be right) that he should take a 1 step and check the Brown route before going to the Smith route, but that isn't what happens. Hurts goes through the correct pre-snap process and makes a nice throw for the TD, but I would like to see the dropback keep both routes in play next time.

Let’s get something straight, y’all: I’m not perfect. I’m a Christian. But I’m not a good one. I believe in Jesus 100%. But I cuss like a sailor. I’m quick to anger. I’ll throw these hands. For those of y’all who don’t know Renatta, you should go follow her. She’s inspirational. She makes me want to be a better Christian. She’s full of love and light. Her disability? It’s insignificant. Renatta is often attacked by people on the left. Folks call her the r-word for standing up for her beliefs. Yeah. The all accepting left… picking on a woman for not fitting their standard of normal. Anytime I see it, my heart breaks. It makes me angry. I worked with special needs kids throughout middle and high school. Autism is rampant in the younger generation of my family. My nephew?
