Gia Giudice gave us a lot of insight into herself and her sisters, and how they’ve all navigated life on reality TV and the fame that comes with it. Before I get into what Gia said about each of her sisters, I have to note something I found interesting… Gia shared that she felt she had to step up on RHONJ and be there for her mom while filming, since her mom was left on her own after her dad, Joe Giudice went to prison. I am sure it’s something a lot of firstborns can relate to… feeling the need to take on a parental role, whether that’s for younger siblings or even for your own parents. Back to Gia and her sisters… Gia explained that growing up on the show, as the years went on, she and her siblings had more say in how much they wanted to be involved in that world. She says she and Milania are on the same page when it comes to social media and fame… they’re diving right in. Gabriella, on the other hand, is super private and has no interest in the attention; she’s thriving at the University of Michigan. This girls co-worker put in a three week notice for PTO for her sister's upcoming wedding that she had to travel for. It was approved by the manager but two days before the girls departure, she's asked if she can change her plans because they need her for a client presentation. She obliviously can't because flights and hotels are already paid for and non-refundable, so she goes to her sisters wedding. Had an interesting conversation this weekend with an older relative who's politics are "just be a good person". She's relatively wealthy and gives to the types of causes you would expect this type of person to give. She gives her time too. She is actually a good person. I asked her if she was ever concerned that the causes she gave to would reduce the proportion of people like her in the world. She said that she thought the opposite. That she was inspired by the generosity and kindness of others, and that by giving she would increase the proportion of people like her. I said I believed she inspires her peers, but her peers aren't the people she's giving money to. Do they become productive and generous people, like her? Or is she just increasing the proportion of people who are takers and don't give anything back? Despite decades of generosity, this was clearly a question she had never thought about. The implications made her uncomfortable, and the conversation basically ended after that.
