This play happened a couple of years ago in a regional final matchup. Unique to say the least. A single up the middle to center field. One run scores. The center fielder charges and throws home. The second runner is coming in to score. The runner slides, the catcher swipes at his arm, was he safe or out? The issue here is the runner who scored before stays behind home plate and is waving for the next runner to get down. The home plate umpire bumps into him, trips, and falls down and doesn’t see the play. 🤯 You can defer to the field umpire but if he didn’t see it, what call can you make? 🤷‍♂️ Some said the runner should be out because the player who scored first interfered with the home plate umpire. I have never seen a play like this. What do you think? What’s the call? Safe or out?

Replay clearly shows the runner is out. The Cubs challenge the call and are confident it is going to be overturned. After replay, the runner is called safe! 🤯 How can the replay booth who has every angle in the book at their disposal (not that you needed more than one) botch this call after the umpire just botched it? Scenario 1 of 3 that I go over in my latest YouTube video “how to defend the walk to 2nd base with a runner on 3rd” For this specific scenario here’s a couple key points: •Get the ball back to the pitcher quickly. This forces the runner on third to commit and either break for home or retreat to the bag. •As pitcher is getting the ball back in the circle, peek to make sure the runner from 3rd went back to bag. •Allow the runner rounding 1st to get close to the 2nd baseman. The closer she is, the quicker the tag can be applied, allowing for an immediate throw home if the runner from third attempts to score. My biggest takeaway is at the end of this video. Let the girls try and make some plays. Get them to be competitive. The more they do it, the more comfortable they will get at it. Don’t just give up a free base- make the other team work for it.

If I have a plug or a hack to get a better deal or more food, would I share it online? Probably not, the chances that it would ruin it me or the company is pretty high. Especially if other locations catch on. I feel that if I shared this, what would happen is more and more people would try to take advantage of it and the store would issue a policy to stop it. What I’m conflicted about is, by ordering a taco in a bowl, I would be getting a $15 bowl for $4. Is it my fault the company has a loophole like that, or should I even feel guilty about exploiting it if it’s only for my benefit? Or is it a scenario where everything is fair game because the restaurant allows us to do that. Whose fault is it that we figured out how to get their pricier item for less? Someone else called it theft, but is this really theft if it’s allowed? They allow us to put our taco shell in a bowl. They allow us to ask for as many extras that we want. So would I really be the bad guy for taking advantage of this? I figured if this was a real issue the store would have stopped it, and to this day as far as I know, anyone can still do this. When I get a chance this week I’ll go and try to do this again to see if it still works, I’ll keep you posted.
