Interesting ABS situation here. 3-2, runner goes, ball 4 is called and he pulls up into 2B. Catcher challenges… and now you start to wonder what would happen if it’s overturned. Are the announcers right, would this become a double play? Or would the umpires send the runner back...

This is a first that I’ve ever seen: challenging a call and you end up getting 3 strikes against you😅 Call on the field was out. Alabama challenged the call (obstruction on catcher) and ending up confirming the call was out, the runner at 3rd was ruled out because of the interference and then finally the runner going into home got a warning issues. You usually always see the catchers getting the short end of the stick but this time it’s the runner plus some.

Umpires blew a foul ball call and gifted the Rockies a double play. Moisés Ballesteros fouled a ball off his leg and didn't run to first since he assumed the play was dead. The play was not reviewable and rookie umpire Louie Krupa ejected Cubs manager Craig Counsell when he argued.

This happened in a game between the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets that I’ve never seen before. Pete Crow-Armstrong was on first base. The pitch goes to home and Armstrong is off trying to steal second base. He slides into second and is called safe. New York challenges the call and it is overturned and he is called out. They said he came off the bag. Not strange right? However, it was ball four. Pete is entitled to second base. You can hear the announcers- “it doesn’t matter if he’s tagged. It’s ball four. Phillies right fielder Adolis Garcia comes up firing and throws a strike to home plate. The catcher goes to tag, Pages slides- the call- safe! The Cardinals challenged the call but in looking over the replay you can see that Andy Pages never touched home plate. But, the challenge was to see if the catcher tagged him. Replay rules that the catcher did not tag him. So the call stands- he’s safe! But, he missed home plate! Replay does not have the authority to change the call just because he missed home plate. 🤯 That is a bizarre play!💯 Do you think a call should be overturned if they are looking at a particular part of the play but notice something else like this where the runner didn’t touch home plate?

My JUCO coach would always say “On a slow roller, pump fake and backdoor the runner on third” He also drilled into us the 3 B’s of defense—Ball, Base, or Backup. You’re always doing one of them. Everybody moves on every play! Million IQ play!

Immense baseball IQ play here from three of the best HWA(How to win awareness) guys in baseball) Very subtle play. 1) With 2 outs & a runner on 1B Hoerner keeps the ball in the infield & makes 180 spin throw to 3B. 2) Bregman realizes that there is no play at 3B & comes out to get the ball & redirects it to 2B. 3) Swanson fake cuts the throw to 3B & slows the runner(Wiemer) down enough to have a play at 2B. 4) After the fake cut Swanson retreats to 2B in time to get Bregman’s redirected throw for the 3rd out of the inning. BE SURE TO EXPAND & SLOW THIS VID TO EXPERIENCE THE FULL AFFECT OF THIS PLAY

This umpire called a ball that the defensive team thought was a strike. The coach called a timeout after the walk and gathered his infield on the mound. On the next pitch, the catcher slid to the right out of the way of the ball making no attempt to catch it and let it drill the umpire right in the mask. Umpires are fallible human beings. Bad call? Maybe it was. But intentionally letting the ball hit him is poor sportsmanship, dangerous and has no place in the game. The coach, pitcher and catcher should all be ejected from the game. Heck, I might just call the game if I was the umpire and if that is what you are teaching your players, maybe that coach should never be allowed to coach again. What would you do if you were the umpire? How about if it was your child pitching or catching? And what are you saying to the coach if he was the coach of your team?
