According to reports, the Russians started employing a modified version of the Geran-4 jet-powered one-way attack drone destined for strikes against Ukraine's high-voltage power transmission lines. The Geran OWA-UAV was equipped with a special shaped-charge cutting warhead that focuses blast energy along a precise line to slice through metal structures, such as high-voltage pylons. The warhead is said to be made up of a 40kg main charge and four strike modules. The move indicates Russia's intentions of further escalating the attacks against Ukrainian power grid as the winter approaches.

The devastating numbers of Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure: Since the start of the heating season, Russia has attacked Ukrainian energy facilities and heat supply systems 256 times, the Security Service of Ukraine said. Russian forces deliberately targeted Ukraine's 11 hydroelectric power plants and 45 major combined heat and power plants. In addition, they carried out 49 targeted aerial strikes on thermal power plants and 151 strikes on electrical substations. Each attack was combined: dozens of Geran drones and Iskander, Kalibr, Kh-101, and Kh-69 missiles. The heaviest strikes were recorded in Kyiv and Kyiv region, as well as in Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Chernihiv regions. The attacks during the sharp cold snap led to large-scale power, heat, and water outages in the homes of millions of Ukrainians. The SSU classifies Russia's systematic attacks on Ukraine's energy system as crimes against humanity. ❗️ This is a consistent policy of the Kremlin aimed at destroying the Ukrainian people.

🇷🇺🇺🇦🇺🇸 Russian Telegram channels report that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun using new AGM-188A Rusty Dagger cruise missiles, developed by the American company Zone 5 Technologies under the ERAM program. 🚀 According to the information, the missile has an operational range of approximately 930 kilometers and carries a 225-kilogram warhead. This represents a significant enhancement of Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities. A cruise missile with nearly 1,000 km range and a substantial warhead allows Ukraine to reach deep into Russian territory, including key logistical and military targets. If confirmed, this new weapon system will further complicate Russia’s defensive efforts and increase pressure on its rear infrastructure. Video is generated by grok AI

Fire Point says Ukrainian Defense Forces used FP-1 strike drones to hit the Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port in Dagestan, with a direct hit on port infrastructure triggering a heavy fire. The port is Russia's only ice-free deep-water port on the Caspian Sea and served as a key transit point for Iranian kamikaze drones shipped to Russia. Through August 2026, it handled more than 2.9 million tonnes of cargo, including over 2.08 million tonnes of oil. #Russia

How Ukraine reached parity with Russia in long-range capabilities Analysts from the Back And Alive Foundation analyzed Ukraine's transition from local frontline strikes to the systemic employment of long-range drones. The volume of drones Ukraine has launched has surged from 110 units in January 2024 to over 7,000 in March 2026. Throughout 2025, Ukraine increased our launch frequency fivefold. In March 2026, Ukraine even managed to surpass the Russia in the number of launched and recorded drones. Flight Geography and Extreme Ranges 🔹Ukrainian drones are increasingly detected at facilities located hundreds and thousands of kilometers from the frontline. The number of Russian regions where they are spotted is steadily growing. 🔹This evolution is not just about quantity, but also about a significant increase in operational range. For instance, in February 2026, an oil refinery in the city of Ukhta (Komi Republic) was struck—over 1,800 km from the Ukrainian border. A Nightmare for Russian Air Defense 🔹As Ukraine deploys more drones, Russian air defense forces must track and intercept a vastly higher number of simultaneous targets, leading to system saturation. 🔹The Russian military is forced to make a choice: protect assets near the frontline to cover their troops, or deploy systems deep into the interior to defend industrial and energy infrastructure. Given Russia’s vast landmass, it is physically impossible to cover all critical sites with limited resources. 🔹Furthermore, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to degrade Russian air defense capabilities. Over the past year, open-source intelligence (OSINT) has confirmed 172 hits on Russian air defense systems through video footage; however, the actual number of successful strikes is significantly higher. 📹📈Cumulative number of days on which at least one UAV reached the region (from January 2024 to March 2026).

🇷🇺🇺🇦 HORRIFIC: Russia's campaign of destruction against Ukraine reaches a horrifying new level Russia struck Orikhiv in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region with a FAB-3000, a 3-ton high explosive aerial bomb and one of the most powerful conventional bombs in Russia's arsenal. The sheer destructive power of a weapon this size can devastate wide areas, reducing buildings to rubble and placing civilians at grave risk. As the world watches, another Russian strike underscores the immense human toll of the war in Ukraine.

🇺🇦🇷🇺UKRAINE SAYS A NEW LASER WEAPON COULD ENTER SERVICE WITHIN MONTHS. Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Lebedenko says Kyiv expects to field a laser system capable of destroying aerial targets more effectively than machine guns within the next two to three months. The new directed-energy weapon is designed to intercept drones and other airborne threats with far greater precision, speed, and efficiency than conventional gun-based systems. If deployed successfully, the system could significantly strengthen Ukraine’s short-range air defense network, reducing ammunition costs and giving frontline units a powerful new tool against increasingly frequent drone attacks. 🇮🇷🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russia's knockoff of Iran's own drone is apparently so good that Tehran came shopping. The Geran started as a copy of Iran's Shahed, and Western security officials say Tehran asked Moscow this year for the advanced versions to use in its war with Israel and the U.S. Ukraine is finding out why the hard way. Kyiv is intercepting only about 60% of the new jet-powered Geran-4 and Geran-5, compared with the 90 to 95% it routinely manages against older models. The Geran-5 flies at up to 600 km/h with a 90 kg warhead and a 1,000 km range, which puts it closer to a cruise missile than a drone. Newer versions also carry thermal cameras and AI-powered targeting. Russia mass-produces them and fixes problems on the fly instead of going through years of testing, and they still cost a fraction of the cruise missiles Moscow used to rely on. Zelensky says 67 Ukrainian companies are working on ways to shoot them down. For most of this war, Ukraine was the one setting the pace on drones, and now it's the one playing catch-up.
