About a month ago, we met a military-civilian team that developed the "DroneBuster" complex – a muzzle attachment for the AK and ammunition that allows destroying enemy FPV drones at close and medium range. The main feature of the "DroneBuster" is that it works with standard combat cartridges! You can fire bursts without removing the muzzle attachment. The AK barrel does not get dirty! Russia is finding it "significantly" harder to conduct combat operations against Ukraine because of a rise in Ukrainian long-range drone strikes on Russian weapons supplies, ammunition depots and fuel refineries, Sky News reported. Brigadier General Yurii Shchyhol signalled these attacks would grow, revealing that Ukraine plans to more than quadruple the production rate of deep strike drones – with a range of hundreds of miles – to more than 2,000 aircraft a month. ⚡️🇺🇦🇷🇺There is now confirmation of the first attempts to blind Russian FPV drones by installing small IR spotlights on Ukrainian drones, producing a bright, directional beam aimed at the incoming drone’s camera. In one case, a Ukrainian UGV tried to blind an approaching Russian FPV drone but failed. The second example was more successful a “Baba Yaga” drone was able to confuse the operator of an anti-drone interceptor that was attempting to shoot it down. For now, this cannot be called widespread, but in the future such a blinding system may become an effective method of countering FPV drones, especially fiber-optic-guided ones, which cannot be jammed by electronic warfare at all. And, as can be seen, the system can be installed on both ground and aerial platforms. So it turns out the outdated Passive Protection Systems (PPS) like the Shtora-1 so common in the late Soviet/Russian/Ukranian like the T-90A are state of the art now.

Yes… one day. - 90% of casualties are caused by drones. Not artillery or rifles. Just drones. - Russia is close to building a million drones a month. Ukraine is trying to match them. - Russia's uncrewed systems force is 80,000 strong. That is bigger than our entire Army. Britain has to catch up and we don't have the luxury of time to do it. We MUST: - Treat drones as ammunition. - Build up always-on drone production here in the UK. - Centralise the data. Use AI to make them smarter. - Stand up an uncrewed systems force now. Not after a review at some point in future… but now. - Cut the rules choking off trial and testing. - Joint ventures between British and Ukrainian industry.
