🛬Let's talk about heavy FPV drones again and about the reasons for their relevance on the frontlines Even a small stronghold is often more resilient than it might seem. To destroy such an object, you need to use numerous conventional FPV drones, or even send an attack aircraft to...

Footage appears to show a Ukrainian soldier preparing a fragmentation munition designed to be carried by an FPV drone. Instead of relying only on the explosive charge, the design uses fragmentation material intended to spread around the point of detonation. The footage highlights how Ukraine is adapting relatively simple manufacturing methods to battlefield requirements. FPV drones are already low-cost and highly flexible platforms, and their payloads can be modified for different battlefield roles. This is another example of how drone warfare is evolving. The competition is no longer just about building better drones — it is also about developing cheaper, more adaptable and more effective payloads for them. #russia #ukraine #fpvdrone #fpv #drones #DroneStrike

Infantry's dream on the front line is the ability to destroy an enemy strongpoint with a single hit. Only if previously this required sending an assault trooper to throw a TM-62 mine by hand, now there's an alternative for this. You can try to destroy a strongpoint with lighter drones, but due to smaller warhead power you'll have to spend dozens of unmanned vehicles, which will cost many times more. So economics alone speaks in favor of heavy FPV-drones for such tasks. That said, this doesn't mean this class of equipment "cancels out" all other FPV-drones — it simply provides the ability to use different equipment for tasks suited to them. The same vehicles will continue to be destroyed using "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky" and similar systems. And the more working tools operators have, the more effectively they can accomplish tasks and eliminate manpower, severely depleting the adversaries irreplaceable resource. Because without this there will be no advance.

Ukrainian heavy drones, which perform various tasks (as a relay, for logistics, mining and destruction), have become an integral part of Ukrainian defense. It is extremely difficult to imagine the battlefield through the eyes of a UA military without this class of drones. For years together with my fighters we have been preparing for the fact that the enemy is about to scale this direction and a similar class of drones will appear in their hands. For the first time I met them during the Kursk operation. But what was my surprise that Russians after 5 years of war have not yet tested these drones and launched them into series. But it will be changed. Undoubtedly, the appearance and scaling of certain drones on both sides is due to the conditions in which they work (for example, Russian INs are not even close to Ukrainian ones), but it is difficult to find arguments for abandoning this class of drones. And Russians are not abandoning them. But they see a significantly smaller role in them than in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Russian plans include the creation of UAV battalions (which are significantly smaller in number of personal than Ukrainian ones) as part of regiments and brigades, where each battalion will have 4 crews of heavy drones. And Russian newly formed SBS forces according to plans should receive two companies of heavy bombers. And I only hope that this should not be a surprise for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as it was in the case with the completely symmetrical and non-innovative actions from «Rubicon». UA FPV drone destroyes former UA Vampire drone that became a trophy for Russians and was used by them.

The mobile anti-aircraft defense unit of the Kostroma paratroopers, with a precise hit by the "Yolka" UAV interceptor, destroyed an attack drone of an aircraft type in the sky over the Kherson region The interceptor itself and the launch mechanism are activated by a special key. It captures targets up to 800 meters away, such as multirotor agricultural drones, aircraft-type UAVs, attack drones, large drones weighing from 150 to 1000 kg. "Yolka" reaches speeds of up to 200 km/h — said the deputy commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the Kostroma paratroopers, with the call sign "Cossack".

Russia has reportedly begun issuing a new anti-drone ammunition called Mnogotochie, designed to improve the chances of hitting small FPV and kamikaze drones. According to the manufacturer, the round splits into three projectiles after leaving the barrel, increasing its effective coverage without requiring any modifications to standard rifles or machine guns. The company claims the ammunition is significantly more effective than conventional cartridges against drones at short ranges, though these performance claims have not been independently verified. Could specialized anti-drone ammunition become standard equipment for infantry on future battlefields? #russia #drone #drones #ukraine #DroneStrike #fpvdrone

How FPV Drones Destroyed Logistics on the Dnipro Drone dominance over the battlefield has become a harsh reality: it might even seem like it was always this way. But there was a moment that served as the starting point for such radical changes in military affairs? Yes, there was. And while several episodes claim credit for it, one of the most striking is the repulsion of the AFU landing on the Kherson direction in autumn 2023, where the enemy listened to the British and decided to force a crossing of the Dnipro. And at first, the enemy was even succeeding, aided by long-range artillery, fast boats and other factors. But everything changed when FPV drone crews with "Upyr" began operating in the sector. About how unmanned aircraft managed to destroy Ukrainian logistics on the Dnipro and disrupt the AFU's plan — in our new video.

A CCTV reporter visited the production line of the “White Whale” W5000 cargo drone, one of the largest cargo drones in the world. This drone can carry a payload of up to 5 tons, with a maximum range of 2,600 km, while the distance from Beijing to Urumqi is about 2,400 km. In the field of drones, it is extremely difficult to surpass the CCP.

I've tried to explain what "mass" and the "cost differential" are many times. This video will show you. This is a Russian surveillance drone feed. Every single black dot on that road is a Ukrainian FPV drone waiting for a target – 100+ can be seen. Somewhere in the area is a small team of pilots who can plug in and activate each UAV. Mass: Imagine that a T-14 Armata tank column approaches. The tanks have been greatly upgraded to avoid and/or survive drone strikes – it's not as easy as strapping on an RPG warhead anymore. You need to hit that tank over and over and over again, and that's just with the UAVs that make it through the electronic and ballistic defenses. Bottom line, you might expend 20-50 drones to kill one piece of armor. Cost Differential: 20-50 drones to kill one tank now? You might jump to the conclusion that the small FPV drones are becoming obsolete. Not so fast. A T-14 costs between $7 and $9 million. Each drone sitting there on the dirt road costs about $1000. If it takes 50 drones to destroy a T-14, that's $50k to kill a $9m target AND its crew. I'll take that deal all day every day.

we created a new kind of drone to shoot down Russian spies. in two months, more than 100 scouts were shot down by such drones. in the video you can see how it happens. But our goal is to clear the sky of enemy drones so that it will be difficult for them to direct missiles at civilian and military objects, and that is why we are launching the production of thousands of such drones. you can join our cause and for a donation of $700 you will receive a personal drone with a name. we will also be grateful for any help or distribution of this message 💲 donate@svoboda-ukrainy.com After you make a contribution of $700, write everything for the drone to our mail: hornetswild@gmail.com

UPDATE: Ukrainian intelligence used naval drone to launch a smaller attack drone, which then took out one of Russia’s S400 defense system. 🇺🇦🇷🇺 The S-400 is one of Russia’s most prized air defense systems, built to shoot down aircraft, drones, and missiles at long range. The cost gap is staggering. A single S-400 launcher and its support systems can cost billions of dollars. The drones used to destroy it likely cost only in thousands. What is genuinely new is the method. Ukraine used a naval drone, built for sea warfare, as a launch platform to carry smaller FPV drones against land targets.

⚡️🇺🇦🇷🇺There is now confirmation of the first attempts to blind Russian FPV drones by installing small IR spotlights on Ukrainian drones, producing a bright, directional beam aimed at the incoming drone’s camera. In one case, a Ukrainian UGV tried to blind an approaching Russian FPV drone but failed. The second example was more successful a “Baba Yaga” drone was able to confuse the operator of an anti-drone interceptor that was attempting to shoot it down. For now, this cannot be called widespread, but in the future such a blinding system may become an effective method of countering FPV drones, especially fiber-optic-guided ones, which cannot be jammed by electronic warfare at all. And, as can be seen, the system can be installed on both ground and aerial platforms. So it turns out the outdated Passive Protection Systems (PPS) like the Shtora-1 so common in the late Soviet/Russian/Ukranian like the T-90A are state of the art now.

A Russian FPV drone was reportedly waiting for a target when a Ukrainian drone suddenly dropped a grenade from above. The grenade missed, but the Russian operator realized the attack had come from another drone and immediately launched his FPV to search for it. What followed was an unusual drone-versus-drone engagement. The Russian operator located the smaller Ukrainian quadcopter, aggressively manoeuvred toward it and eventually hit it in mid-air. The footage appears to show the Russian FPV acting as an improvised interceptor. The incident highlights how FPV drones are taking on new roles on the battlefield. They are no longer just weapons designed to strike ground targets — operators can also use them to hunt other drones. As counter-drone tactics evolve, aerial dogfights between small UAVs could become an increasingly common part of modern warfare. #russia #ukraine #fpvdrone ##fpv #Drones #DroneStrike

The Chinese are advancing on 6th-generation fighters, but I have serious doubts about whether this is truly the right path. Recently, the Turkish company Baykar flew two combat drones that operate in perfect synchronization, guided from a ground base. They executed coordinated maneuvers autonomously and are already capable of conducting BVR (Beyond Visual Range) engagements. The Kızılelma became the first drone to achieve an autonomous kill with an air-to-air missile guided by its own AESA radar. This level of Turkish progress, combined with the kill web integration that Chinese drones are demonstrating, isn’t it a strong indication that manned 6th-generation fighters might be an extraordinarily expensive fantasy? I’ll go further: some drones are already reaching speeds above Mach 3.5 - more than double those of the leading current manned fighters. I’m talking about drones capable of high-speed coordinated operations, fully autonomous, with integrated and shared weapon systems, flying at altitudes far higher than conventional fighters, and employing systems similar to Aegis. How much longer until these drones take off in large swarms, equipped with ultra-modern sensors controlled by AI and armed with long-range air-to-air missiles? How could a human pilot, even at the height of adrenaline, make faster and more accurate decisions, involving multiple scenarios and factors, than an AI commanding a pack of smaller, more agile drones operating at different altitudes? We are entering the real competition between man and machine. Even if a pilot in a 6th-generation fighter has control over slave drones and an entire Aegis-like kill web, what is the point of having him there if everything can be done autonomously, more safely, more cheaply, and in far greater numbers? Some argue that the human pilot offers advantages in unpredictable scenarios where today’s AI still fails, and I agree. But I’m not talking about current AI: I’m talking about the AI of 2030–2040, far more advanced than anything we know today. Geran drones equipped with air-to-air missiles prove that air combat drones can be extremely low-cost, while the Turkish tests show, in a far more sophisticated way, that drones designed for air-to-air missions are evolving much faster than 6th-generation aircraft, whose development and production costs are exorbitant. When we put together the Geran, the Kızılelma, and the drone kill web integration the Chinese are achieving, the question arises: is the future really manned 6th-generation fighters, or much cheaper drones produced in greater numbers, better protected, and more capable? Wouldn’t it be smarter to invest in well-equipped autonomous 6th-generation drones rather than treating them merely as wingmen? It seems that keeping a human pilot on board has more to do with ethical principles and preserving our role than with genuine operational necessity. And how would humanity react to the constant killing of human beings by AI-guided drones? Drones will be cheaper to develop, easier to produce, and possibly more agile than conventional fighters, even 6th-generation ones. In cost-benefit terms, the price of a single 6th-generation fighter could buy dozens of equivalent or even superior drones. This would save hundreds of billions of dollars and could put whoever adopts the strategy a step ahead. The Chinese, by the way, are very well positioned in this race, with HALE drones already armed with air-to-air missiles and integrated into an extensive kill web, which I will describe in detail soon.
