Russian border guards (and likely also young conscripts) surrender to Ukrainian forces in huge numbers in Russia's Kursk region. Unbelievable.

The West is leaving Ukraine no choice but to act on its own initiative. The Americans and also Germany are forbidding almost any meaningful means of counter-attack. I believe that this initiative shows that all is not yet lost if Western support finally gains momentum.

Even if this turns out the only result of the Kursk operation, it's already a huge success. Still to many Ukrainian heroes waiting to be exchanged.

Those stationed there thought they were safe from going to the front.

Smart to surrender. And good for Ukraine. And there might be a few rich kids doing military service while hiding from the main fighting in that bunch.
