NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte: NATO stands with Ukraine. This was true before Russia's full-scale invasion, this was true on the 24th of February 2022, and it has been true every single day since. Putin has long thought he could wait us out, that Ukraine was weak, that your supporters would grow weary, that our will would falter. He was gravely mistaken. Ukraine is strong, and our support is unwavering. I do recognize that a focus on other global events might have caused concern that our attention might be divided at the moment you needed our support more acutely than ever - as the temperatures plummeted, attacks on your energy infrastructure intensified, and the talks to bring this terrible war to a lasting end continued. But I want to assure you that our attention has not been diverted. Ukraine is and will remain essential to our security, and our commitment to supporting Ukraine is steadfast.

Putin thought that Kyiv would fall. He thought that he could use this winter to conquer Ukraine. He thought that Europe would freeze in the dark. And he thought that NATO would fracture. But he was wrong. The Ukrainian flag continues to fly.

RUTTE: Five years into Russia's war, Ukraine is standing strong and reminding us all that freedom is worth fighting for, no matter the odds. And, in Ankara, I expect to show Zelenskyy and all Ukrainians that our support endures and to remind Putin that we're not going anywhere.

NATO's Rutte: The latest hostile actions by Russia are reckless, dangerous, and a threat to life. But we are not intimidated. We know these are the tactics of a desperate regime that is failing to meet its objectives in Ukraine. Putin thinks he can divide us, destabilize us, and weaken our support for Ukraine. But he will fail.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte: A Russian strike on a passenger train in Ukraine yesterday shows how desperate Putin has become. "Russia continues to wage its brutal war of aggression against Ukraine at a staggering cost to Russia, with over 40,000 casualties per month. Russia is struggling in Ukraine and continues to lash out, with reckless and dangerous attacks, including on civilian infrastructure, close to NATO territory. The strike on a passenger train in Ukraine yesterday shows how desperate Putin has become. He thinks that he can stop us from supporting Ukraine and undermine our unity. He is wrong. Our answer is to increase support to Ukraine, so it has what it needs to defend itself."

Jirka is 15 years old. He rushed to Old Town Square in Prague on Sunday to take part in a rally in support of Ukraine because he is convinced that people in Czechia should support Ukraine. "I came to express my support for Ukraine, we must not weaken our help, because this war concerns us too," Jirka said, adding that it is necessary to be interested in politics. "I have always been interested in what is happening here and in the world. If we didn't support Ukraine, we might regret it one day. Ukraine is also fighting for us," he added.

French President Macron on Trump and Ukraine: When Trump arrived, he thought Ukraine was going to lose. That is why he wanted a rapid peace agreement. Remember January–February 2025. He thought Ukraine was going to lose. President Trump saw that everything he had been told—"they will collapse," "they won't get through the winter"—was false. And that he is dealing with courageous, innovative people whom he respects.

Hillary Clinton: "To achieve a just, lasting settlement in Ukraine, we must better equip Ukraine with long-range missiles and adequate air defense systems. That’s the only language Putin understands. Strong support for Ukraine will force him to negotiate a better deal. Trump’s withdrawal of U.S. support for Ukraine is disgraceful and a complete abandonment of Western and human values. If Trump thinks he can dominate the Western hemisphere and give Europe to Putin, he's mistaken. Europeans must be the first to prove him wrong."

Rutte: NATO will continue to support Ukraine and defend allied territory NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called Russia’s hybrid attacks a sign of weakness. He said the alliance would not give in to provocations and would continue to strengthen its defenses and help Ukraine. Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said Russia was trying to distract Europe’s attention from Ukraine. However, allies would continue supplying weapons to Kyiv and step up their support. Rutte also emphasized that NATO was ready to defend every inch of allied territory. Forward land forces have already been deployed on the alliance’s eastern flank.

A peace agreement is absolutely achievable in Ukraine, but let's remember that Vladimir Putin would like peace while he rolls through Kiev. We should continue to support Ukraine through this process.
