Diplomatic Checkmate Against the Kigali Regime. (Full video of Michael Waltz's intervention). Very harsh statements from the United States Ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, against the Kigali regime, during the emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council on the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). In his speech, he firmly condemns Rwanda for its direct support to the M23, explicitly states that Rwandan troops (Rwandan Defence Forces, RDF) are deployed alongside the M23 rebels in eastern Congo (notably in Uvira, South Kivu), and describes this as deliberate sabotage of the peace agreements recently signed in Washington. He mentions recent field evidence, including the use of surface-to-air missiles by Rwandan forces and strategic involvement in planning offensives. Waltz states that the United States will use “all tools at its disposal” to hold Rwanda accountable and demands an immediate withdrawal of Rwandan troops from Congolese territory. He argued that their involvement stems from an invitation by a president who has pledged to destabilise the neighbouring government. "The difference is that they have an offence posture against our government (Rwanda), not against terrorist organisations like those in Cabo Delgado," says Nduhungirehe. Recently, she became the target of coordinated online harassment on TikTok,where individuals mainly based in #Rwanda have accused her of being a "Hutu genocidaire," the "daughter of a killer," and falsely linked her to genocide perpetrators,despite her being a child at the time of the #genocide. In response,she submitted a request to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (Rwanda Investigation Bureau ), asking them to investigate the individuals behind these defamatory and threatening attacks. Shockingly, instead of investigating the harassers, Rwandan Immigration Officers blocked her husband at #Kigali International Airport as he was preparing to travel to #Canada to visit her and their children. He was then taken into custody and handed over to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau. Her husband had complied with all legal requirements for international travel. He held a valid Canadian visa and official documents from Rwandan authorities confirming that he has no criminal record,documents obtained through legal procedures during his visa application. Since his detention,his wife has not been able to contact him and remains unaware of his current location or legal status. She is urgently appealing to the international community,human rights organizations,and media outlets to kindly support efforts encouraging Rwandan authorities to ensure transparency, uphold due process, and facilitate the timely release of her husband so he can reunite with his family in #Canada. Rwanda🇷🇼 now admits it works with #M23 as part of its "Defensive Measures' in #DRC🇨🇩. "Rwanda does engage in security coordination with AFC/M23", Rwanda's Ambassador to the U.S., Mathilde Mukantabana, tells the U.S. Ambassador Mukantabana says "Rwanda and AFC/M23 share a common interest in protecting Tutsi in DRC from the FDLR and other FARDC-backed extremist militias" and that her country's "interest extends beyond this: to prevent another genocidal cross-border insurgency, like in the late 1990s, that could threaten Rwanda’s very existence." She adds, "Our actions are narrowly focused on protecting the people of Rwanda by preventing cross-border genocidal threats. Rwanda’s defensive measures will adjust as the level of threat reduces,." On the implementation of the Washington Accords, she says, "Rwanda commits to a phased, simultaneous, and independently verified drawdown of its security coordination measures with AFC/M23, in direct proportion to FDLR disarmament milestones,".

Condemning the FARDC statement accusing M23/AFC and the RDF of being behind the killings, this is a diversion tactic used by Tshisekedi aimed at misleading and manipulating international opinion, instead of supporting the ongoing international efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in eastern Congo. Tshisekedi has failed to protect the Congolese people by funding and arming the FDLR, Wazalendo, ADF, and other armed groups to kill innocent Congolese civilians and loot the country’s resources. What is clear is that Tshisekedi does not want peace, even though there is international pressure urging him to engage in dialogue with AFC/M23. However, both his statements and his actions every day show that he does not want peace to be achieved, which is why he blames Rwanda for all the problems.

Another notorious combatant has been captured, marking a significant loss for Kinshasa. One of the FDLR’s senior figures, known as Tokyo (real name Yoweri, from Kivuye in western Rwanda), was captured by AFC/M23 forces in a location called Muzimu (“Ghost”) in Masisi, North Kivu.
