Speed cameras were meant to make streets safer, not fill city coffers. One camera in Brampton issued 32,000 tickets in just three weeks. That is not safety, that is a money grab. Our government is ending cash grab cameras and investing in real safety measures like speed bumps, signage, and education to stop speeding before it happens. We are standing up for drivers, parents, and families.

A construction site should not be sitting empty because workers are afraid to show up. Families in South Texas need housing, businesses need workers, and our communities need projects like this to move forward. I have long supported strong border security, but enforcement should be targeted at criminals and real threats to public safety. When workers are scared, projects get delayed, costs go up, and local economies feel it. We need smart, targeted enforcement that keeps our communities safe without hurting the workers, families, and businesses that help build South Texas.

Eighty-eight percent of small businesses import products—either to sell directly to customers or to use in making something else that they deliver to customers right here in America. So that’s driving up costs. It’s a huge tax—not only on our small businesses, but on the American public. And I’ve heard that very directly from our small business community. In addition, businesses that export to places like Canada or China are also being hit hard. I had an extensive conversation with businesses in our forest products industry, which is important here in New Hampshire. We’re the second most forested state in the country, and they have a huge market in China—which is now being hit with a 150% reciprocal tariff. That market is going to disappear. People are going to lose their jobs—whether in logging, sawmills, or lumber yards. There’s tremendous pressure, and they just won’t be able to navigate it.
