These agreements also provide employment opportunities for our crew members who are really struggling during the strike. Cornelius Chepsoi, Chair Rig Owners Association: There is a lot of talk in the media that this is a matatu strike; it is not a matatu strike. This is a nationwide strike by Kenyans. The Minister came back with an offer from the state of 8 shillings, which our members out rightly refused. The original proposal was that they take out the entire 46 shillings that they increased in the last cycle. The agreement was that the strike goes on, and we maintain it until we agree. In the Minister’s words, he said in Michuki’s time, people walked to work for two months until a solution was found. It is not right for CS Wandayi to change the statement on the floor, that is not speaking in good faith #CitizenMondayReport
