The shot Tiger hit for me and my son. 2018 Open at Carnoustie. My son was 8. Not into golf yet — but the Open was in our back garden, and this might be his only chance to see Tiger live. So I brought him to the course and we went hunting. Found Tiger on the 8th. Swamped. Thousands deep. My boy couldn't see a thing. Local knowledge. We skipped ahead to the 11th and waited. Clear line of sight across to the 10th. Got there before the crowds. Tiger hit his tee shot on 10 into the bunker. 151 from the pin, a few feet from the face. And then he hit the greatest bunker shot I have ever seen live. Just us on the side of 11. Almost nobody else around. It felt like he hit it just for us. My boy is a caddie at Carnoustie now. And he tells everyone about the time his dad brought him to see the Tiger — and the Tiger put on a show for what felt like just the two of them. Seth Rogen reveals The Interview used a real tiger because the CGI was too expensive, then the tiger wrangler started asking terrifying questions I did a movie called The Interview about North Korea, and there’s a scene with a tiger. I directed the movie with my partner, and we wrote this scene where there’s a tiger. I thought in my head it would be CG. Life of Pi had come out recently, and I was like, “We’ll get the Life of Pi tiger. Put us down for one Life of Pi.” They were like, “We can’t afford that at all. We’ve got to get a real tiger.” I was like, “Oh God.” So we found a tiger wrangler in Calgary, and we had a call with him. It was so funny because he was the least confidence inspiring person you’ve ever spoken to in your entire life. I asked, “Where’d you get the tiger?” He said, “From a stripper.” We were like, “What?” He said, “She had a tiger cub as part of her act, and it got too big, so she had to get rid of it.” We asked, “Where does a stripper get a tiger?” He said, “It’s easier than you think. You could get one.” We had sent him the script, and he said, “Let’s go over the scene. You’re not shooting this at night, are you?” I said, “Yeah, the scene is set at night.” He said, “Ooh.” I asked, “Why is that bad?” He said, “Well, they hunt at night.” He asked, “Can it be during the day?” We said, “No. Is that okay?” There was a long pause, and he said, “Yeah, it’s okay. I think it’s okay.” Then he asked, “It won’t be in a big open area, will it?” We said, “Yeah, it’s basically a giant meadow.” He said, “Ooh.” We asked, “Is that bad?” He said, “Well, if there’s a deer or something, they will go after it.” We said, “That’s bad. I’ve preached this from day 1 Recreational golfers are SO OBSESSED with ball flight when making changes that it stops you from focusing on what you actually need to, which is the body movement your making If Tiger didn’t care, why should you. You have to be very careful when listening to tour players talk about their own feels & what they do during the golf swing Don't get me wrong, some are VERY good at explaining in detail what they are doing & feeling, but some don't actually have a clue. They are just VERY GOOD at golf & don't really know how they do it. This is a prime example where Tiger is saying he's not a "Spot Chipper", then on another video he says he likes hitting to a "Spot" So which one is it? Remember, these guys are ELITE at playing the game of golf & getting the ball in the hole in less shots than everyone else They are not always the best at accuratly articulating what they are really trying to do There was a video of Tiger a while back where he was saying the club head moves first in the golf swing... No it doesn't. There's a pressure shift into the trail side first... Tiger won with 4 different swings. He's just THAT GOOD We as coaches are the ones who explain things better than a tour pro. The tour pros job is to shoot low scores

Jason Day was asked ahead of The Masters whether he has any empathy for what Tiger Woods is going through and he gave a brilliant answer that a lot of people can probably agree with: “So yeah, in regards to Tiger, it just shows the human element and the human side of someone that is struggling with some sort of an addiction. He's not immune to it just because he can hit a golf ball really well. He's had 25 to 30 something surgeries, and when you're going through that many procedures, it's painful coming out of those procedures. I've had procedures done and I typically try and stay away from all that stuff because I just know that -- painkillers, there can potentially be a downfall to it. “Granted, when I look at that, I look at it and go, he's just a human being like everyone else and we have struggles. It's unfortunate, the only thing that I don't understand is that it's a little bit selfish of him to drive and put other people in harm's way, as well. “But when you're the player that he was and how strong-willed he is, he thinks he can do almost anything, and that's probably why he's probably driving and a little bit under the influence. “He was my hero -- he's my hero. He was my hero growing up. The reason why I play golf is because of this tournament and Tiger. It's hard to see him go through what he's going through, and especially under the microscope that -- it must be hard to be who he is and have everything, everyone look on, kind of down on him. “Some people want him to fail. Some people obviously want him to succeed. It's really difficult for me to go through that and watch him, and I know that he's getting the help now, which is good. The video I sent you is maybe one of the reasons that the judges rendered their decision. “One thing is for sure, we have been used to very exciting performances at Eye of the Tiger and that was definitely not acceptable for a main event.” When asked whether he would be interested in a rematch, in order for Ramirez to right the wrongs of the first fight, Estephan told me, “the fight was so boring, I want to make exciting fights”, insinuating that he hopes to avoid a second meeting. Julius Thedford returning next season for Memphis is a net positive. Thedford was the only Tiger with a PPP above 1 (1.027) and led the team in rebounds last season (despite being a 6’4” G). He consistently showed effort with little to play for last season. As for some of the others potentially returning, I am not a fan. Continuity is usually good, except when a team is coming off their worst year this century. Penny must understand that some of these guys returning will do more harm than good.

PAVEL: When strongest member of NATO calls NATO “paper tiger,” it certainly doesn't help to increase Alliance’s credibility. Putin can only be pleased by such statements. This is what he has been doing all along. On one hand, he tells Russian population NATO is threat to Russia. On the other, Putin tries to point out that European members of NATO are not major adversary. The only major adversary is United States. We, as allies, must do everything possible to strengthen credibility of our deterrence, and avoid undermining credibility of Alliance, even in our own statements.
