Tiger Woods is/was the best at making swing changes… he changed his swing 4 times… maybe more How did he do it? By not caring where the ball was going in the early stages. I’ve preached this from day 1 Recreational golfers are SO OBSESSED with ball flight when... show more

Helps when he can spend 10 hours a day for 3 months hitting balls, under the eyes of a full time coach. Fitting in sufficient time between work, family and life, whilst finding the money to pay a coach a couple of times per month is a bit more challenging.

For sure… that’s doesn’t mean you can’t still practice effectively though even with limited time

He had all the time and money (and talent) in the world. That made it easier to be patient. Golf lessons and range time aren’t cheap and most of us don’t have the opportunity to play every day.

If anything… recreational golfers have more time to be patient… you aren’t playing tournaments for ur living… who cares if u play poorly on Saturday… Tiger has the masters coming up… more important than a Saturday stableford

It’s their swing they can do what they want. Haha But I always tell them, if nothing changes, nothing changes.

Rory was recently trying to make changes to his swing and said he would hit into a blank screen so he wouldn’t be concerned with ball flight. If it works for the best in the world, good enough for me.

I disagree with this perspective for recreational golfers. Pros like Tiger of course many times need to ignore ball flight when trying to make specific changes in their swings that they know will lead to eventual improvement over time. Casual golfers, on the other hand, have no time or dedication to this…and that’s fine. The ball flight is ABSOLUTELY the judge of the process. If the ball flight is good, then they shouldn’t be obsessing over swing technicalities.

So when I ask you to do a 25% speed swing to show me the changes to your pattern, you want a perfect little draw that barely gets airborne? With respect, you don’t know how motor learning works. I’m not talking about full swings when changing a pattern

Recreational golfers should be MORE OBSESSED with buying new equipment to fix their golf problems, like my line of equipment specifically….and nobody else’s. 😏😂😊

Is this right? Doesn’t fit with @HankHaney ‘s description of Woods’ practice in The Big Miss

@HankHaney I’m sharing what Chris Como said
