Contrarian take – roles that require human connection BUT are stressful like nursing & healthcare in general are the MOST important ones for AI / robots to take over. This is based on deeply personal experience based on 3+ month hospital stay while taking care of family. Nurses / Healthcare workers are not always skilled. Many suffer from apathy. It's "just a job" for them (seeing illness and death every day can do that to you), while for the patients and their family, it's anything but. I'd rather have benevolent, skilled, untiring, and always-gracious AI robots take care of me in the hospital when I'm sick than apathetic, less-than-skilled nurses or healthcare workers who came to work after an argument with their spouse or had a bad night's rest.

You mean AI will replace India?

What a softly spoken fuckin psychopath.

If we have MORE jobs within 10 years I’ll be flabbergasted

🤣Is that idiot GPT5 replacing humans?I think it's better to let 4o do the work. Please return the real 4o to us

Saying people will lose their jobs with a straight face does scare me

Sam is the definition of psychopath.

A quick note about nursing. We really need AI-augmentation for our nurse workforce. Most are under paid, overworked, and don't get to give the type of 1-on-1 care they deserve to give (and we should demand to receive). My girlfriend is a nurse, and she tells me horror stories.

This man is a dangerous lier. Even a short google reveals a whole slew of companies developing AI care robots.

The question isn’t only which jobs endure — but what ‘connection’ itself means within them. If AI reshapes how presence and trust are mediated, the safe ground may not be where you think.

The uncertainty around programming jobs is the most interesting part. It's not a simple 1:1 replacement. If AI makes each engineer 10x more productive, do we need 10x fewer engineers, or do we just build 10x more ambitious systems? The demand for software might scale to meet the new supply of productivity.

AI makes you 10x more productive!" "So we only need 1/10th the people?" Yeah, that caveat is doing heavy lifting.

What about mechanics? Skilled labor? Do they get super valuable?

Everyone breathing a sigh of relief while @elonmusk builds the robots that replace skilled labour 😂😂😂

When AGI hits. Its game over. They'll sell it to all companies, and at that point, you won't need people anymore, or very few will be employed. we are talking about super intelligent that will replicate itself basically forever. Billions of people will be out of work!

@grok as the productivity of software developers/Engineers increase, do we need more of them or less ?

spreading the myth i understand what ai can do!

I work in this industry. AI is not going to be replacing majority of tech jobs. The bigger companies are using it to enhance productivity not necessarily replace personnel. Some jobs may be lost, yes. But most roles were shift into using AI to accomplish the original job task.

Why does he still import h1bs the

Dystopian psychopath.

You know, eventually, after if you get that far with this, it will even make you obsolete as well!!! someone who just wants to delete people who depend on money and their jobs and you're not looking for an out for them away for them to continue. You shouldn't have powers like this. You're not a good person.

Not even a AI bot agent can support can make planned obsolescence any better.

🤔

This far I've found AI most useful for small utility projects which helps me learn the syntax & libs of new languages. Can't use it for production since I can't share the proprietary code base with an online tool. Still, soon the company will have a locally hosted AI

These AI people have no clue that humans want human interactions when dealing with problems. AI doing customer support just slows down the process while it goes through its programmed bullshit.

you still believe that SCAM ALTMAN guy?

This guy seems like an AI system created him. Uncanny valley.

I ain’t want a nurse to chit chat.

Klarna tried this for customer support jobs and they had to reverse their decision because they were imploding. People like customer support from people near to them. It's not a human versus machine thing because the same concept applies if hiring abroad for local customer support - people want people they can understand, trust, and relate with. This is normal.

Every time I see this creature I feel like I'm about to throw up. I don't know what he does but it's something really nasty and horrible

Tech changes always target us middle class—AI won’t just erase jobs, it'll force constant reskilling. The only certainty now: adapt or watch your role disappear.
