Sam Elliot is 81 but still delivering exceptional work on Landman. Elliot & Billy Bob Thornton are each so damn good in this show. Television is not my preferred medium & I don’t love Taylor Sheridan’s TV as much as his films. But man, these two crush this show together.

The Al Pacino Birthday Weekend Marathon is so far from over. I finished The Godfather Part III last night & as I wrote yesterday, I think this film deserves more love than it receives. Pacino isn’t as good here as the first two, but man he’s still spectacular in this movie. 🎂

Nick Nolte is 85 but he’s still making movies. I just saw him yesterday in Crime 101 & a few months ago, he starred alongside Jennifer Lawrence & Robert Pattinson in Die My Love. This man is an exceptional actor. I’ve loved seeing him pop up in films even in his mid ‘80s.

Daniel Day-Lewis is absolutely exceptional in #Anemone. I understand this is a polarizing film that not everyone will embrace but I love this movie & I love DDL’s performance. He’s electric & delivers some incredibly memorable monologues. It’s so good to see him back on screen.

Billy Bob Thornton doesn’t really get the credit he deserves as an actor. He’s got a lot of range if you think about it & look back at his career. Here he is next to the late Bill Paxton in A Simple Plan, a film I can’t say enough good things about. I love this fucking movie man.

DEVELOPING: Taylor Sheridan is reportedly returning to Cinema. That’s at least according to Josh Brolin, who confirmed on the press junket for Ridley Scott’s The Dog Stars that Sicario 3 is 1) in the worlds & 2) being written by Sheridan. This isn’t good news. This is fantastic news. I’ve long maintained that Sheridan is at his best when he’s writing for Cinema. I have to admit, I’ve succumbed to Sheridan’s latest show Lioness, which is truly entertaining as hell. But Sheridan’s best work remains in Cinema.

Taylor Sheridan is better at writing movies than he is writing television shows. Don’t get me wrong- the guy can write for both mediums as well as anyone this side of Aaron Sorkin. But films like Wind River, Sicario & Hell or High Water are proof Sheridan writes best for Cinema.

This is exactly how we were flogged, beaten, and maltreated. Though this is not us in the video, these are the Abuja-Kaduna train victims. But this is exactly how we sat and lay down. No difference whatsoever. These victims spent 3 months in captivity living this way, so you can imagine. The experience is really terrible. As much as I try to be very detailed, there’s still more to my experience with this devils. But I’ll continue…, maybe much later. But for now this is my experience

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest was met with a good amount of criticism upon its release in 2006 but I never understood the hate for this film. The filmmaking is exceptional & includes a number of memorable set pieces. The ending is also unforgettable. Not as good as the first but still a damn good summer blockbuster.
