This is the fastest way I’ve found to send huge files without compression across the world. It’s called Blip. A file transfer app that lets you send massive files directly from your device to someone else’s. No cloud upload first. No waiting for a download link. No file size panic. No video quality getting destroyed. No “upgrade your storage” nonsense. Just pick the file and send it. What it can do: • Send files of any size • Send entire folders • Resume interrupted transfers • Keep original quality • Work across long distances • Transfer between desktop and mobile • Use end-to-end encrypted transfers • Run on Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad, and Android The wild part: Blip says it can handle files up to 99TB. we just added Apple Pay support in Chrome and non-Safari browsers on Dodo Payments. you can now use Apple Pay on desktop too. it opens a QR popup, you scan it with your iPhone, and pay. no Safari required. most payment providers still haven't shipped this. they're stuck on older Apple Pay versions that only work in Safari. we updated to the latest spec and built the cross-browser flow from scratch. this is live now for all merchants. no integration changes needed.

This app uses AirDrop to send files from your Android phone to your Macbook! Yes, it actually uses AirDrop. That means you don't have to install ANYTHING on your Mac to send files from your Android phone! Here's a video of a Galaxy Z Flip 5 AirDropping a file to a Macbook running macOS Ventura 13.5.1. (Thanks to u/FragmentedChicken for testing this app for me and sharing the video!) A few months ago, Twitter user @Linus13499209 brought an app called WarpShare to my attention. WarpShare is an app made by the developers of MoKee, an AOSP-based custom ROM that was popular in China. Since MoKee wasn't as popular outside of China, it seems the existence of their WarpShare app slipped under the radar. I was skeptical about whether it would work at all. Grishka, the developer of NearDrop, an open source port of Google's Nearby Share to macOS, told me that they were under the assumption that AirDrop requires the use of AWDL (Apple Wireless Direct Link, Apple's proprietary WiFi-based protocol) to communicate both ways. However, it seems that AWDL is only required for your Android phone to be discoverable by your Mac (ie. to send files from your Mac to your Android phone) but not the other way around. Because of this, though, WarpShare only supports sending files from Android to Mac but not vice versa. Your Mac also needs to have AirDrop discoverability set to "everyone" for this to work, as "contacts-only" requires Apple-signed certificates. Plus, it also doesn't support sending files from Android to iPhones or iPads, even when "everyone" mode is enabled. Still, if you find other Android --> Mac file sharing options to be lackluster, give WarpShare a try! The fact that it works at all is incredible, which is why I'm sharing this news here. If you want to download WarpShare on your Android device, you'll need to compile the app from its source code. If you're a Patron/X subscriber, however, I will share my compiled APK with you. Dear X Design Who thought replacing the native Android gallery with the Google Photos media picker was a good idea? 🤦‍♂️ On Galaxy phones, I expect the app to open Samsung Gallery, not Google Photos. Now I have to: ❌ Dig through folders every time ❌ Re-select the same folder for every new attachment ❌ Spend more time finding photos than actually posting This is a massive UX downgrade. Android isn't one-size-fits-all. Respect OEM gallery apps and use the native media picker instead. Samsung Members gets this right. I've attached a video showing the difference. Agree? Repost so the X team sees this. 👇🏻

The latest loophole that third-party file manager apps were using to get access to files and folders under /Android/data and /Android/obb has been patched. As part of Android 11's Scoped Storage restrictions, apps that use the Storage Access Framework (SAF) to launch the documents picker are not supposed to be able to get access to files and folders under the /Android/data or /Android/obb directories. However, third-party file managers figured out that if they set the initial directory when launching the documents picker to either /Android/data or /Android/obb, the documents picker lets the user grant the app full access to directories. This loophole was patched in Android 13, but then another loophole was discovered that got around this. Since Android 13 only blocked apps from setting /Android/data or /Android/obb as the initial directory when launching the documents picker, it was quickly discovered that you could set the initial directory to one of the subdirectories under /Android/data or /Android/obb, thus the user could grant access to individual subdirectories one-by-one. However, this latest loophole was patched with a recent Google Play System Update. The latest version of the DocumentsUI app, the Project Mainline module that comprises the documents picker, now restricts the initial location for the ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT/_TREE intent so that apps cannot request the initial location to be one of /Android/data, /Android/sandbox, /Android/obb, or one of their subdirectories. If the DocumentsUI app (AKA 'Files' app) on your device is on version 14-10492947 (version code 340916000), then this loophole is patched.

Last day in China today. What an amazing journey my wife and I have been on with our 3 kids this summer! 6 weeks on the road traveling through Asia, it’s been one heck of an amazing adventure 😃 Guangzhou you’ve been amazing 🙏🏼 Lots of family time, so many incredible memories, some truly unforgettable meals (best place to eat in China) and now we board a ferry back to Hong Kong before catching a flight this evening back to North America I’ve learned so much about China these last few weeks and can’t wait to share more with everyone soon 😃

Heads up! Samsung has introduced a very useful upgrade to the Privacy Display feature on the Galaxy S26 Ultra in One UI 9. For example, if you've enabled Privacy Display only for YouTube, when you minimize the video into Picture in Picture (PiP) and return to the home screen, only the PiP window will remain protected by Privacy Display. Your home screen and other apps will no longer be affected. In previous versions, once Privacy Display was enabled, the entire screen stayed in privacy mode, even after switching to PiP, making it much less flexible. This means One UI 9 finally supports independent Privacy Display for Picture in Picture. It keeps your PiP content private without affecting the rest of the interface, making the feature much more practical than before.

The most retarded thing about Zack's Pixel Fold battery explosion is his claim (and people repeating it) that this is the first time ever that this happened. Well YEAH because it was also the FIRST TIME that he pushed it way beyond his usual destruction and kept trying to fold it over at the breaking point (the antenna) way after it already got destroyed On all his other ""tests"" he always stops when the phone breaks. Not to much here. After it broke he tried to completely fold it and THAT was the point that damaged the battery which resulted in it starting to smoke. Don't blame fucking Google, blame his retarded ""testing"" It's literally the FIRST time he did this to a phone. Not the first time this happening in his tests". It would happen almost every single time if he did this to all his phones and foldables. For comparison on the Fold 7 he just stopped after a quick bent. On the Pixel he didn't.
