WRIGHTWOOD/DECEMBER STORMS INCIDENT EVENING UPDATE (FINAL) San Bernardino County Fire with LACoFD in Unified Command have officially closed the Wrightwood Storms incident after confirming there are no ongoing life safety threats and favorable weather is predicted for the future. Fire crews worked throughout the day to assess impacted areas, confirm the safety of the residents, and provided help to transition from response to recovery. Fire Station 14 in Wrightwood, is fully staffed and remains ready to respond to any call for service within the community. We are still pleased to report that only one injury was reported during this event. Residents are encouraged to remain prepared by signing up for the Telephone Emergency Notification System (TENS) and by visiting for additional preparedness information and updates. The Lee Fire in Colorado is a monster, now 58,700+ acres. This fire in Rio Blanco county has caused the closure of Highway 64 this afternoon from county road 7 to county road 5. The fire continues to make large wind fueled runs. The fire also jumped Highway 13 but aviation was able to keep it in check. Crews and fire managers continue to try and slow the progress of the fire before it impacts Meeker, Colorado. Current temps are 90 degrees with 16MPH winds.
