A few years ago, I helped a friend with a small renovation that we called Mini Reni. It was so much fun that we started doing more and more of these smaller sized projects all over Waco, and eventually made it into a show! I was on a comment thread with some sauce producers a few months back. Someone tagged Ancira Salsa, so I decided to give them a try. I have never spoken to them outside a few likes and comments on X, but I ordered a few jars of their salsa and DAMN! It's amazing. Give it a shot if you like salsa. Best to support the small local guys. Also, I don't ever take $$ to push these products. I want to keep it authentic. I paid for each of these jars. And most importantly, Lauren Gruel loved it.

I was listening to a sermon recently from one of my favorite teachers, Tim Keller, who sadly passed from this earth earlier this year. He was talking about the power and meaning of the words “Peace On Earth”. I was deeply encouraged and challenged to consider the significance of those words, particularly what they meant when announced by the angels 2000 years ago, and what they mean to us in 2023. As I was reflecting on all of that in light of what’s happening in my life personally with family and friends as well as in the world as a whole, I started thinking about a song I wrote a few years ago with my friend Tom Douglas called “A Desperate Benediction (Peace on Earth)” and suddenly found myself rewriting some of the words of this song, specifically related to right now...Christmas 2023. I’m not even sure as a songwriter what the rules are on this kind of a thing, but I felt strongly that I wanted to share it with you…So here you go. Peace on Earth, Christmas 2023.

Scottie Scheffler played with Bryson DeChambeau yesterday and he reacted to the rules dispute at The Open: “I was out practising. I was playing with him yesterday. I don't really have a ton to say on it. Actually, I do have a ton to say. I haven't decided exactly what I want to say publicly yet. “I do have some thoughts. I just -- I don't really feel like now is the time or place for me to comment. We're in the middle of a tournament, and I'm focused on what I need to do. I need to go out tomorrow and shoot a low round. I'm not really going to expand on it too much.” He was then asked if he will speak publicly in a few weeks: “I don't know. It's just a tough situation, I think. Like I said, I have a decent amount of thoughts, but probably nothing that I'm concerned with right now. “Yeah, just feel like it's not a road I want to go down today. I have a tournament to focus on, and I'm going to go hit a few balls and hit a few putts. It's my job to go out there and shoot a low round tomorrow. The last 48 hours have been pretty wild, I sent this to a few friends & it was a mixed bag if I should bother posting or ignore. This is regarding the 4 second bear question clip I responded to. A lot of people shared their stories with me privately & I hope that anyone who knows me knew & continues to understand I wasn't trying to take away from the point of the metaphor, I responded assuming it was a REAL situation as in sitting next to a bear IRL. This is a 1 shot 5 minute video with no edits so if it's a little all over the place, I just wanted to give you my actual response, not some edited thing. To the people who have expressed how disappointed they are and have said they no longer want to be friends, or have a go at me, if you watch this and still feel the same. Not much else I can say.

Backstory… This crash lead to the discovery of a 4cm mass in his left temporal region of my sons brain.Go pro video of the crash at Turkey Mountain. Talk about a blessing in disguise. If it wasn't for the crash, we wouldn't have any reason to take him to get a CT.Luckily no broken bones, internal bleeding or permanent damage outside of a few cuts bruises and scrapes. Every time I watch it, I wish I would've just reached back and grabbed him, but I was so was focused on River who fell right as the video started. What's crazy is this was labeled as a kids path.. He was pretty excited after he found out. I got it on video and now he just wants to go viral.

“He’s not taking it seriously” - tell that to the (much bigger) version of myself that I was a year ago. Listen; I’m just trying to be real. I’m not trying to make excuses, even if I have. This past month was hard for me, especially sharing it the way that I did. But regardless of that I’m not gonna let that low point or anyone on the internet take away from the progress that I’ve made over the YEARS of struggling and learning that I’ve gone through. I will never give up on this journey, I still plan to hit 399 by the end of April; I have a plan, I have a schedule, and I’m going to do my best to follow it. I apologize if this feels like giving attention directly to the negativity, but I felt like these thoughts / this response and the *hope* that I feel right now regarding my journey really need to be shared. I’m PROUD of what I’ve accomplished, even knowing I still have a long ways to go. I see the positive, I promise, and I’m sorry that I can’t always take the time to respond to more messages. #weightlossjourney
