PLEASE SHARE THIS The people of Alma are being abandoned by the ruling authority in Lebanon. They are defenseless and under constant pressure to leave their homes. The people of Alma are peaceful Christians who have nothing to do with this war. Last night we heard through an intermediary between us and the IDF that their voice has been heard. However, we still cannot feel reassured until we hear something official from the IDF. The message from Alma is clear. The town will not evacuate under any circumstances. The only message the people want to hear is that their voice has been acknowledged. Leaving this matter to the authorities in Lebanon will lead nowhere. The crippled authorities lack the courage to raise their voice and ask Israel directly to spare this peaceful Christian town. Israel’s war is with Hezbollah, a terrorist organization. It was Hezbollah that last summer managed to turn Alma into a launch point for rockets against northern Israel, which is why the village is now seen as a threat. But this is not the truth. If the people had not been forced to leave last time, Hezbollah would never have been able to use the town as a missile platform. This is Hezbollah’s plan again. If the people leave now, Hezbollah will make sure to use the town, forcing Israel to destroy it and turning Christians against Israel. Today, Iran launched a swarm of 185 killer drones, 110 surface to surface missiles, and 36 cruise missiles at Israel, putting the whole country and entire region on lockdown. He was the great cheerleader for overthrowing Syria. He’s been the cheerleader for a war with Iran that he’s just desperate to have this coming week, and I mean it literally. Where is Western civilization when Israel is massacring tens of thousands of people before our eyes, blowing up the housing, the hospitals, the clinics, the infrastructure of Gaza, then, now bombing indiscriminately Beirut—in fact, all parts of Lebanon—they were just bombing the port of Tyre, and Netanyahu’s talking about expanding the war to Iran. Of course, he can’t do it other than the United States getting into a war with Iran which would be a complete disaster—and a disaster for Israel—though it’s the one that Netanyahu is egging on. It is a pervasive view around the world that I am hearing every single day that there are no Western values because we see a genocide unfolding in Gaza, we see absolutely zero will of the US government to reign in what Israel is doing, though everything that Israel is doing depends on the US bombs, the US weapon systems, the US financing. This is a US operation being carried out by Israel but with complete complicity by the United States and silence by Europe. This is now the common parlance around the world. I’m asked all the time, ‘What is your government doing? How can it stand by when Israel is committing these crimes?’ It’s an amazing question. It’s so stark. It’s such a profound failure of American politics that it is like this. Netanyahu has been leading the United States into disaster after disaster after disaster. A massacre is happening in Syria right now. The Druze are a small religious minority, and they’re currently being slaughtered in the Syrian city of Sweida. The Druze are Arabs, but they have their own distinct religion, culture, and customs, and that makes them a target for radical Islamist extremists. Earlier this week, clashes broke out between the Druze and Bedouins in southern Syria, near the border with Israel. That’s when Islamist forces allied with the Syrian government used the opportunity to attack the Druze by humiliating them, executing them, burning their homes, all with the backing of the Syrian government. This is the targeted persecution of a minority group and it’s part of a bigger pattern. Across the Middle East, minorities are under attack by Islamists Christians, Yazidis, Kurds, and now the Druze. But there is one country where the Druze are not only protected, they thrive, and that country is Israel. In Israel, the Druze are acknowledged as a protected minority and they participate in every aspect of Israel’s society. They serve in the military, they serve in government, they are a vital part of Israel’s fabric because Israel is the only country in the region with full religious freedoms. And because of that bond between the Druze community and the state of Israel, Israel is now taking action to protect the Druze in Syria. Some of the media and online, not surprisingly, are painting Israel as the aggressor, but the reality is that once again, Israel is defending minorities from radical Islamists. You heard it here first: Iron Dome is essentially free for Israel, since it is now in mass production and its manufacturing is subsidised by export orders to the tune of billions.
