Saw a pro doing high rows with TRX straps instead of cables. Stability demand looks brutal. Free scapular movement might force better mind-muscle connection though. Smart variation or influencer nonsense?

Cable Zercher Slant Board Squat This is a very cool exercise I have started doing with the following beneficial mechanics: - Slant Board (Heels Elevated): The incline shifts your center of gravity forward, allowing for greater knee flexion, a deeper squat for those with limited mobility and a more upright torso. This puts an extreme emphasis on the quadriceps, particularly the vastus medialis (VMO) or teardrop muscle. - Zercher Position: Holding the load in the crooks of your elbows forces your upper back and core to work harder to prevent the weight from pulling your torso forward. This is a very natural force pattern that has great carryover to real life applications. - Safety/Stability: The cable acts as a guide, making it easier to maintain your balance on the slant board while focusing entirely on the muscle contraction, good for those who want to push the legs with a bit more “safety” than a free weight squat. Unlike a barbell where the tension changes through the range of motion (getting "easier" at the top), the cable provides constant mechanical tension throughout the entire squat. It is an exceptional movement for building teardrop quad definition and improving knee stability, as well as core bracing. I like to do it 6 or so sets, high volume repetitions - pyramiding up from low weight to high with minimal rest times - focusing on achieving the most brutal lactic acid build up that I can in the legs, done at the start of a workout. Even though the weight isn’t hugely high on the cable machine, it still packs a massive punch. Try it out! Below are the specific benefits you can expect from this routine: 💪 Benefits of No-Break Training Circuit 🏋️‍♂️ 1. Muscle Endurance & Hypertrophy (Pump Effect) •This routine includes high reps, time-under-tension, and progressive muscle overload across arms, shoulders, and core. •Constant curling and pressing keeps muscles engorged with blood (the pump)—stimulating sarcoplasmic hypertrophy. •Your biceps, triceps, and shoulders are especially targeted for endurance and growth. 🔥 2. Cardiovascular & Metabolic Conditioning •With zero rest, your heart rate stays elevated, turning what is traditionally strength work into cardiometabolic training. •This taxes your aerobic and anaerobic systems, building conditioning along with strength. 🧠 3. Mental Fortitude & Focus •You’re doing high volume with minimal rest, requiring concentration, pain tolerance, and mental drive. •Exercises like "hold curls" and burnout sets force you to push through muscular fatigue, enhancing grit. 🧬 4. Hormonal & Caloric Response •This type of high-volume, continuous circuit can elevate growth hormone and testosterone levels transiently. •It also leads to increased calorie burn and a strong EPOC (afterburn) effect. ⚖️ 5. Time Efficiency & Density •You’re packing a high amount of volume into a condensed time, hitting multiple muscle groups with compound and isolation exercises. •This saves time while delivering a full hypertrophy + cardio stimulus. 📈 6. Joint Stability & Core Engagement •Rotational moves like twists plus shoulder/arm holds challenge your stabilizer muscles. •Core is hit repeatedly through twists and dynamic upper-body movement, especially while holding weights. 📍Targeted Muscle Groups •Biceps: Repeated curls, hammer curls, hold curls (lots of volume and variation). •Triceps: Pulldowns, skull crushers. •Deltoids: Lateral raises, front raises, shoulder press variants. •Core/Obliques: High reps of twisting movements. •Back: Dumbbell rows (although less volume here). •Grip/Forearms: From prolonged holding of weights under fatigue. I think ignoring pro-government mobilization in Iran weakens ability to provide realistic analysis. The key is to separate: -regime capacity from regime legitimacy -short-term survival from long-term stability -protest movement setback from protest movement defeat A key part of Iran’s political reality today—one that shouldn’t be ignored for the sake of wishful thinking—is that the state has managed to bring sizable pro-government demonstrations onto the streets across multiple cities, even amid its brutal crackdown. This of course does not confer legitimacy on the Islamic Republic, nor does it erase the scale of repression, the hundreds confirmed killed so far, or the horrific violence obscured by internet shutdowns. But it does matter for assessing the immediate viability of protests or the efficacy of a US military attack on the country. As of now, there are no confirmed reports of major elite splits or security-force defections, though under conditions of near-total information blackout it is impossible to gauge the depth of internal fractures. What is visible is a state that has doubled down, relying on repression and foreign intervention narratives to rally its base. This suggests that a critical mass sufficient to topple the system has not yet formed. But it would be a grave mistake to conclude from this that the Islamic Republic can simply restore the prior, already highly volatile balance that existed between itself and society. The protesters’ message to the ruling elite has been unmistakable: coercion can no longer compel consent. Fear barriers have been breached. Iranians have en mass risked bullets to demand change. The state may suppress this round of protests, but without meaningful political and economic transformation, the conditions that produced them will persist. What lies ahead won't be stability for it, but a system limping forward—more brittle and increasingly vulnerable to the next eruption of public anger.

Tom Haviland is stronger overall, especially in strongman-style lifts, due to superior lower body power, leverage, and event-specific training. Andrey Smaev (aka Andre Samev, "Russian Hulk"): ~6'1"-6'2", 330-340 lbs at ~27 years old. Insane upper-body density with 26" arms and massive forearms. Mind-blowing feats include ~660-700+ lb bench (raw/paused, including 200 kg for 25 reps), heavy weighted pull-ups/muscle-ups, and monster rows/curls. He crushes pressing and pulling volume but rarely trains heavy squats or deads as an adult (solid teen PRs only). Tom Haviland: 6'8", 330-350+ lbs at ~38. Australian farm strongman built like a giant. Verified monster lifts: 1003 lb deadlift (deficit/straps), 811 lb squat x3, 600 lb bench, 750 lb Zercher, 1200 lb yoke walks, and brutal carries. Trains with minimalist, brutal basics (Zercher squats, yoke, shrugs) outdoors on the farm. Exceptional strength for his extreme height and long levers. Why Haviland wins: Strongman metrics (deadlift, squat, yoke, carries) heavily favor him—he consistently moves more total tonnage in full-body events. Smaev’s shorter range of motion and upper-body bias let him dominate bench and rows, but he lacks recent heavy lower-body proof. At similar bodyweights, Tom’s height + verified pulls give him the clear edge in broad "who’s stronger" terms. Smaev might still take raw bench or pure arm strength. Both are genetic freaks on gear who shouldn’t exist in our era—Smaev’s cartoonish density vs Haviland’s towering power. Haviland takes it for raw functional strength.

How Gaza's suffering became a trojan horse for hate: The pro-Hamas and pro-resistance crowd that did not once in the past two years demand the terror group end its control of Gaza or surrender the Israeli hostages continued to turn the United Kingdom into an Intifada land. This was never about a ceasefire for them, nor was it ever really about ending the war; indeed, the suffering in Gaza was a Trojan horse through which their wishful fantasies to eliminate the state of Israel were mainstreamed as supposed “pro-Palestine” views. These characters are antisemitic to the core, celebrate Hamas, excuse terror, scoff at the notion of peace and coexistence, despise the West, adopt hateful, divisive rhetoric, and promote violent and intimidating language like “escalation” and “disruption” to mask their deep threats to the very principles of Western, democratic, and free societies. Many of these fascists who threaten my life regularly, and adopted language not too dissimilar from Hamas, Al-Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, and neo-Nazis spent two years telling me we cannot criticize Hamas while “the genocide” was ongoing, and that only after the war stops can there be any or some degree of discussion and engagement on Palestinian violence, leadership failures, and horrific mistakes. I have always known that this was the height of their fraud because these individuals and groups were never interested in accountability or agency, and that there would never be a right time for introspection and self-critique – a fact I know from being part of the mainstream “pro-Palestine” movement in the past. Now, instead, they want to keep the escalation and flames of hatred, violence, terrorism, and threats going beyond Gaza, proving the very fraudulent nature of their narrative and intentions. I am sharing this message with those who were fooled over the past two years by the idea that this really is somehow an actual “pro-Palestine” movement. I am sharing this with those who are horrified by the suffering and the pain of Gazans under the weight of Israeli bombardment and military action following the horrific October 7 attack by Hamas. I am pleading with those who are interested in self-determination and progress for the Palestinian people that there is a lot more to being pro-Palestine than simply being anti-Israel. Free Palestine from the “free-Palestine movement.” Free Palestine from Hamas and terrorism. Free Palestine from ignorance, hate, antisemitism, jingoism, and hollow nationalism.

Eric Weinstein unleashes a chilling take on physics: The field froze in 1973—no meaningful change to the Lagrangian (the core mathematical engine of physics) since then, despite decades of effort. "No new ideas about how to change the Lagrangian that anybody finds exciting... Nobody goes to Stockholm to get a Nobel Prize because they changed the Lagrangian of the world." He argues a bizarre force field slams anyone exploring truly revolutionary ideas—like multiple dimensions of time or breakthroughs that could upend power balances—while physics is the only profession without full free speech. Under the "Restricted Data" doctrine (from the 1946/1954 Atomic Energy Acts & "Born Secret"), any new physics insight that might relate to nuclear weapons becomes classified the instant it's written or spoken—even if you're not in government. Violate it? You could face Espionage Act charges, potentially capital offenses. Weinstein's bet: There's no secret government physics office holding breakthroughs. Instead, smart people long ago decided open physics was too dangerous—because real advances could hand the President fusion power or worse. "The Department of Energy is really the Department of Physics... We're scared of the possibility of physics? We don't even want to talk about it." Clip from this 3:49 mind-bender—physics as the silenced superpower. Does this explain the stagnation... or is string theory just a dead-end distraction? Is physics deliberately "safe" to avoid existential risks? Your take—drop it below.

Bhagavad Gita 18.33 धृत्या यया धारयते मन प्राणेन्द्रियक्रियाः । योगेनाव्यभिचारिण्या धृतिः सा पार्थ सात्त्विकी ॥ Imagine Krishna speaking this not on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, but in the middle of today’s noisy life. Phones vibrate, minds race, comfort pulls us back, and discipline feels heavy. In such a world, Bhagavad Gita 18.33 defines what real strength looks like. Krishna explains Sattvic Dhriti — pure determination. This is not excitement or temporary motivation. It is a calm inner power that holds the mind, breath, and senses together through awareness and balance. It does not force control; it brings clarity. Today, the mind is restless, jumping from fear to comparison to distraction. The senses constantly demand pleasure — more scrolling, more comfort, more taste. Sattvic determination means you pause instead of reacting. You choose discipline over impulse, even when no one is watching. A key word in this verse is “Avyabhicharini” — unbroken. True determination does not change with mood, success, or failure. Praise does not inflate it. Criticism does not crush it. It continues quietly, day after day. This teaching also speaks deeply to modern mental health. Most suffering today comes from extremes — chasing pleasure or running from discomfort. Sattvic Dhriti teaches balance. You do not escape pain, nor do you drown in it. You stay steady and move forward with awareness. In a world addicted to speed and shortcuts, Krishna reminds us that real power is silent consistency — doing the right thing daily, calmly, steadily, without noise. That Hare Krishna 💗
