schools should be all year round… yeah good luck with that one! I don’t know about anyone else but I’d hate my kids to be in school all year, when would I ever get chance to spend time with them!

They couldn’t afford the hike in salaries! Even an extra week on every teacher’s salary in the country, can you imagine? It will never happen.

To the lady posting this: If they did offer Year round schooling, how would holiday time for school staff look? How could lessons be planned when you couldn’t say how many children would be in school? How would the learning look? Utter nonsense

Idiocy writ large

When my kids were growing up teaching wasn't quite as full on as now. I managed to juggle it with my kids. I do not know how teachers with young kids do that now.

6 week half-terms are more than enough as it is. Human beings, cooped up in a confined space, i.e - classrooms - need a break from each other regularly. Any longer and it starts to break down from my experience and is not an effective use of time.
