🚨🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Sec Rubio just reframed the entire blockade narrative: "The blockade is not a blockade against shipping. It's a blockade against Iranian shipping. They cannot be the sole beneficiaries of an illegal, unlawful, and unjustified system of tolling and control in the straits." What he's saying: Iran can... show more

Marco Rubio just explained exactly why the U.S. still has a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. RUBIO: “The only reason there’s a blockade — the only reason why there’s a U.S. blockade is because Iran has closed...they’re firing on commercial ships and they have mined large segments of Hormuz, international waters.” “The blockade is only against Iranian ships.” “And it’s very simple. The notion is if no one’s ships will get out, then Iran’s ships aren’t going to get out either.” “We can’t live in a world in which they get to close the straits and tell everybody, pay us a toll or we’ll blow you up but their ships get to go our unfettered.” “So that’s the reason why there’s a blockade.” “There wouldn’t have been a blockade if Iran agreed to do what they said they would do when the ceasefire kicked in, which is they were going to open the straits.”

.The Joint Staff 🇺🇸 Chairman Gen. Dan Caine: "Let me be clear: this blockade applies to ALL ships, regardless of nationality, heading into or from Iranian ports. The U.S. action is a blockade of Iran’s ports and coastline, not a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Enforcement will occur inside Iran's territorial seas and in international waters."

JUST IN: Iran officially declares the Strait of Hormuz is NOT closed to the world—it is ONLY closed to the US, Israel, and their allies. Global shipping can pass freely. Washington's narrative of a global blockade just collapsed on live TV.

🇮🇷 Tehran’s strategy is not simply to attack the U.S. blockade, but to turn control of the Strait of Hormuz into political and economic leverage. Iran is reportedly pushing for the blockade to end, sanctions on its oil and gas exports to be lifted, frozen assets released, and a new shipping route through Iranian waters. “They have now become very firm in their demands for opening the Strait of Hormuz.” Pravin Sawhney’s bigger argument: Iran still wants diplomacy, but it is negotiating from a position of leverage while building a broader regional security framework. 🚨🇮🇷🇺🇸 Senior Iranian official Mohsen Rezaee just drew a hard line on the blockade... "We will not tolerate a naval blockade, and if the blockade continues, Iran will respond." Rezaee's warnings aren't theoretical. He represents the IRGC faction that has been overriding Araghchi and Ghalibaf at every diplomatic step. And now the same faction is publicly drawing a red line on the very pressure tool Trump just decided to maintain for months. If Iran responds militarily to the blockade, the war restarts in everything but name. If Trump backs off the blockade, his entire pressure architecture collapses.

TOTAL CONTROL: President Trump says the U.S. naval blockade is in full effect in the Strait of Hormuz and is "a wall of steel." Sec. of War Pete Hegseth says the blockade can be maintained “indefinitely.” “We will rotate ships in and out as we have and we will continue to do that.” Jonathan Hunt tells Martha MacCallum on The Story that, as a result of that blockade, President Trump says the U.S. now has total control over the Strait of Hormuz and “there is nothing Iran can do about it.”

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 15 out of 25 Iranian tankers made it through the blockade last month, making it seem like the blockade was a failure. Admiral Mark Montgomery says those headlines fail to communicate the nuances of the situation and the pressure the blockade will put on Iran to make concessions. "The reality is the vast majority of Iranian fuel is not going to get delivered." Mark Montgomery

🚨 IRAN REALIZED IT SCREWED UP FOUR Iranian or Iran-linked ships have abysmally FAILED to breach Trump's blockade! The IRGC for the past several days PROMISED the world they have full, 100% control over the Strait of Hormuz ahead of JD Vance negotiations Then they tried testing Trump's blockade and Marines SURGED onto the ship! 🔥 The blockade is GOING STRONG, nobody is getting through without permission. The Iranian vessel Touska tried RUNNING the blockade, and the US blew a hole in their engine room. Quite the statement just before negotiations set to begin in Pakistan. IRAN IS PANICKED!

JUST IN: 🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. Central Command says a naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz goes into effect in 16 hours. Now, the blockade will involve stopping any ships that come out of Iranian ports or Iranian coastal areas. U.S. ships will not be stopping vessels traveling from non-Iranian ports.

.Margaret Brennan: “As I understand it, the first part of this deal would involve the clearing and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. How quickly will the U.S. blockade on Iran end? How quickly will they be able to sell their oil?” Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth: “Immediately.” Hegseth adds: “Ultimately, the blockade will stay as the strait opens. And then, the blockade will open, and then, the straits open. And if that takes 30 days to fully mature, or two weeks to fully mature, but it will start immediately as the president has said.”

🚨 IRAN BEGGED FOR THE BLOCKADE TO BE LIFTED — TRUMP REFUSED Iran THOUGHT that by telling President Trump and JD Vance to SCREW OFF on Pakistan peace talks that 47 would be forced into lifting the blockade Except he's KEEPING the blockade — and all of our military forces — while awaiting Iran's proposal, and extending the ceasefire Sounds like radical elements of the IRGC are trying to BLOW UP peace talks. Trump wants to wait and see if the internal struggles allow for a peace deal to be carried out BLOCKADE CONTINUES! That's BILLIONS of dollars the regime needs to fund itself going up in flames.

🇮🇷 Iran is making clear the Strait of Hormuz stays shut until the U.S. lifts its naval blockade, no matter how the Oman talks go. FM spokesman Baghaei blames the closure on U.S. and Israeli "aggression" and the use of regional bases against Iran. He frames the Oman talks as purely technical, just mapping out a safe shipping lane, with nothing to do with the wider political standoff. Baghaei even cites a UN resolution to brand the ongoing U.S. blockade an "act of aggression." Bottom line from Tehran: no reopening until the blockade ends, the hostilities stop, and the U.S. pays for the damage. Source: Tasnim / Writer: Julie

🎥 How is Iran confronting the U.S. naval blockade? Dr. Sahar Maranlou, Iranian legal scholar and lecturer at the University of London Royal Holloway, made the case that the U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is failing on its own terms — and that time is working against Trump, not Iran. She pointed to a recent Financial Times report showing Iranian tanker traffic bypassing restrictions is increasing. The blockade, she says, is “not functioning on the ground” — as Iran adapts through land trade routes and “gray zone” strategies with China and regional neighbors. jeremy scahill | Sahar

President Trump compared the U.S. Navy to pirates, as it enforces the blockade of Iranian ports near the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. also warned shipping companies that they could face penalties for paying tolls to Iran to safely pass through the critical waterway. CBS News’ Ramy Inocencio has more.
