Two Arrested After Motorcyclist Stabbed During Southington Rideout Plantsville, Connecticut — On July 20, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Southington Police Department responded to the area of 503 Main Street after multiple 911 calls reported a large group on bicycles, e-bikes, and mopeds participating in a rideout. Callers stated the group was obstructing traffic and creating disturbances. Officers then received reports of a motorcyclist being assaulted. Police determined that a 58-year-old motorcyclist became surrounded by group members and stopped in the roadway. His cellular phone was taken, and multiple individuals assaulted him. One assailant repeatedly stabbed the victim in the back with a screwdriver. The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officers arrested 20-year-old Kevin Manuel Rodriguez of Waterbury and a 13-year-old juvenile of Cheshire. Rodriguez faces charges of criminal attempt to commit assault in the first degree, conspiracy to commit assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, riot in the second degree, unlawful assembly, threatening in the second degree, and breach of peace in the second degree. He was held on a $500,000 cash/surety bond. The juvenile faces charges of robbery in the first degree, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree, larceny in the fourth degree, assault in the third degree, riot in the second degree, unlawful assembly, and two counts of breach of peace in the second degree. The juvenile was held under an order to detain and taken to the Hartford Juvenile Detention Center.
