Residents Slam Authorities Over Broken Roads At Hosa Road, near Rayasandra Circle, right in front of Mahaveer Ranches, the condition of the road has been appalling for over a month now. The entire stretch is completely broken, riddled with deep potholes, muddy patches, and craters big enough to swallow a scooter. For residents, office-goers, school buses and even ambulances, this has turned into a daily obstacle course rather than a public road. We keep hearing tall claims about “Brand Bengaluru” and the city’s transformation under the current leadership, yet basic infrastructure like roads continues to remain neglected for weeks at a time. Despite repeated complaints from citizens, no visible action has been taken to repair this stretch or even to provide a temporary fix to prevent further deterioration. It’s understandable that infrastructure projects take time, but leaving a key connecting road in this state for more than a months shows a serious gap between promises and ground reality. One recurring problem is the behavior of the 500CA buses near Jeevika Hospital, where frequent U-turns disrupt the flow of traffic, causing unnecessary congestion on an already busy stretch. A practical solution would be to stop these buses from making U-turns at Jeevika Hospital and instead divert them via the service road onto the Marathahalli bridge, continuing towards Kunhalli. Such a small change in traffic management could significantly reduce jams, improve commuter experience, and make daily travel less stressful for thousands of motorists. The entire stretch turned into what looked more like a swimming pool than one of the city’s busiest junctions. Even the newly constructed metro station area was completely waterlogged, raising serious concerns about Bengaluru’s infrastructure and drainage planning. Vehicles were struggling to move through the flooded roads while commuters were left stranded in traffic chaos. Despite massive development projects and ongoing metro construction, the city continues to face the same flooding issues every monsoon. Roads disappearing under water has now become a regular scene in Bengaluru whenever heavy rain hits the city. It is shocking to see such severe waterlogging around a newly built metro corridor that was supposed to improve urban mobility and infrastructure. Citizens are once again questioning how crores are being spent on development while basic drainage problems remain unsolved. 📍 Vega City, Bannerghatta Road Take a look at the condition of this road. At first glance, it may appear to be a normal black patch, but in reality, the surface is completely damaged, filled with loose stones, mud, uneven patches, and crater-like potholes. This has turned what should be a safe public road into a serious hazard for commuters. The question every taxpayer is asking is: where is the tax money going? Citizens pay road tax, property tax, fuel tax, and various other charges, yet basic road infrastructure continues to deteriorate. During the rainy season, these roads get flooded and resemble small lakes, making travel dangerous and difficult. When there is no rain, the situation is hardly any better, as loose gravel, broken surfaces, and potholes pose risks to motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. Bengaluru is known as India's technology capital, but many of its roads continue to reflect poor planning, delayed maintenance, and a lack of accountability. Residents are forced to navigate damaged roads every day while infrastructure projects and promises of development continue to dominate headlines. Do the lives and safety of citizens not matter? Under Congress, India’s tech capital, Bengaluru, is crumbling. Just see the video below. This the state of the road leading upto a prominent school in the city - Sri Kumaran Children’s Home. Thousands of young schoolchildren use this road everyday. This is pretty much the state of most of the roads in Bengaluru. The situation is so bad and authorities are so callous that despite the school requesting the authorities to fix it, they haven’t. Now the school has requested parents to also write to municipal authorities in the hope that their collective voice may be heard and the road may be fixed.
