Security footage was released today after it was announced that the two Gastonia police officers who shot and killed a man at a convenience store in January won’t face any criminal charges. Before getting into the details, as someone who has spent a lot of time in Gastonia, NC,... this is the most "Gastonia" gas station conversation I've ever heard (audio up) 😎 -very good body positioning by the cop to conceal his 4 o'clock draw and a solid draw and first shot on target time 🤌🏽 -the cop took at least two shots on the threat while the threat was at a 90 degree angle; good example of why the 12-18'' penetration standard is the standard. Phoenix police pulled over 46-year-old Sam Perone and he got out of his car before the officer approached the vehicle. Sam escalated the situation and they got into a physical fight. Whilst fighting, the officer's mag was dropped out of his handgun. When the officer drew his gun and fired it was a single shot gun. The shot struck Mr. Perone in the leg. San Bernardino County sheriff’s department released body cam footage of an officer involved gunfight at an ARCO gas station in California. The officer was shot twice (shin & thigh) and the suspect Jorge Cardenas, 27, of Ontario, died. The initial call was made by a clerk working at the gas station who said a man with a gun was threatening her and she had locked herself in the bathroom. A couple notes: -that tactical reload almost cost the officer. An 18 year old violent felon, who had a history of robbing women at gun point in parking lots across Los Angeles, unknowingly picked the worst place possible (thankfully) to spring his trap in the Fallbrook Center parking lot earlier this year. That very parking lot happened to have several undercover Los Angeles Sheriffs department officers sitting there investigating an unrelated crime and they observed the strong armed robbery in process. Officers decided to perform an impromptu 9mm ballistics test on the criminal's torso after the criminal fired at them. On this day 5 years ago in Minneapolis, following the BLM insurrection, an unmarked van was driving through the street firing less lethal rounds at anyone who wasn't following the curfew. One man, a concealed carry license holder, returned fire believing he was the victim of a drive by shooting which was a very real threat at the time. Once police identified themselves he complied fully and got on the ground. Police then kicked him in the head and beat him whilst he was fully complying and not resisting at all and they charged him with 8 felonies including attempted murder. Cullins died in 2022 after a 911 caller said he had a gun at Fogo De Chao where he used to work. The family and police disagree on what the video shows. Atlanta police say that Cullins grabbed his gun and shot the security guard which prompted them to open fire. The footage shows the security guard getting hit and crawling away. The family and Georgia NAACP President Gerald Griggs argue that the video doesn't show who discharged the first shot.
