They are measuring their carbon footprint by weighing their refuse prior to disposal after swiping in the card in order to assign the activity to the profile. For keeping garbage away from dogs 😁😀 I don’t think so! It’s not a bad concept,we must be mindful of our garbage.

Joburg introduced something similar back in 2007, but sadly it did not take off.

This must be a prepaid system or you swipe your card so you may be charged uma ngibuka.

Be careful not to throw the card in the bin with your waste, the way you're putting that trash inside, the card might one day slip and fall inside. In SA you'll find people putting the trash just next to the bin.

Future rsidential estates could do that even now it can be piloted and save money from buying trolley bins and water from washing it.
