🚫 I won’t be pressured into silence. Across Sussex, people have real concerns about what is happening around Crowborough Barracks. They are asking reasonable questions and they deserve straight answers. I have been admonished for speaking up about those concerns. But if you try to admonish the person raising the questions on the public’s behalf, you are effectively admonishing the public for asking them in the first place. This is not about personal politics. It is about respect. Residents should be able to voice worries without being dismissed, and public bodies should respond with transparency, not defensiveness. So I will keep standing with local people, and I will keep pushing for clear answers. Do you share these concerns and what is the one question you want answered most?

I got a little pushback from my recent post about I.C.E. — and it deserved a follow up conversation. Some people said I’m making a “both sides” error. A false equivalence. Here’s what I think we’re missing when we look across the aisle: You’re not just arguing with PEOPLE. You’re arguing with their ALGORITHM. For each side, their social media feeds FEEL complete. Neither one is. And if you don’t know what the other side is seeing when they look down at their phones, you won’t be able to persuade them. Here is a good example of that below👇🏿 It is not my business to stroke the egos of politicians or their supporters; my job is simply to ask questions. I don’t care how they feel afterwards, because running for public office requires transparency not hero-worshipping. When politicians or their fanatics start lashing out avoiding giving answers to legitimate questions, from my experience, it means there is something they are hiding. I have asked all his (fanatics) not supporters, to tell me exactly what it is they have a problem with in what I said; there is no answer, just insults!
